I used a new quick detailer on my 2000 SSEi today. It is called Ice by Turtle Wax. The color of the car
is either Dark Blue Metalic or Midnight Blue. I'm not sure what the color is called but it is dark blue and Ice brings out the metal flake a lot. It is a better shine then Quick Detailer by
Maguiar's.

LOL, Quick Detailer from Meguiars is a cleaning solution, to take off dust and light dirt and stuff. Ice is kind of like a polish.

Hrmmm, tried the ice stuff...hated it. Made a smeary mess. Maybe I should sell it on the for sale section.

Turtle Wax Ice is available in a quick detailer form just so you know.

My understanding is that the products have been improved at least once or twice since they came out. I know some people who swear by it, but I've never tried it myself- mostly for the reason that the Turtle Wax name is on it. But I have heard some good things, so maybe it's a big jump from regular Turtle Wax stuff.

Try Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay System next time. I have used Ice and do not prefer it on my Bonneville paint. The best I have used so far is the Meguiars products.

I guess this is more of a personal preference.

I love Turtle Was Ice products.

They smear only when not done a certain way. Say if you use the spray detailer, you have to spray, wipe, then follow with a clean rag immediately or it does leave streaks.

The liquid clay bar works something furious on paint that hasn't been cared for properly, but doesn't replace a real clay bar, let alone an actual buffing.

The synthetic paste works very well, but is a pain to take off the paint without the spray detailer.

I just did my '96 SSEi today with all Ice products, and it looks incredible, smooth as glass and plenty of deep color/reflection. A lot of the swirls, scuffs and scratches disappeared as well.

I've never used the Ice quick detailer, but I have used the paste, with mixed results.

On my LeSabre, I used it in both sun and shade, and was really happy with the results. It gave the paint a nice, deep shine, and took away some of the age. Paint is a dark metallic green.

Tested on small areas on the Bonneville, both sun and shade, and did not like the results. Made a smeary mess that was hard to get off. Paint is black (non-metallic).

So my guess it works well with some paints, and not so well with others.

I've used the clear liquid ice. I love it on the lower plastic moldings because there is no white residue left in all the little cracks and corners where you can't get it buffed clean.

i've been using the paste for over a year now. I like it. I've only used it to do an entire car once, and it didn't come out too bad. i haven't used it to do the whole thing since then because i've discovered the joys of liquid wax.
lately i've been using it on all the plastics on my car like some of the trim, the headlights, taillights, i even used it on windows before i found rain X. it works pretty good on black trim. and the fact that you can use it in direct sunlight is definitely a plus.

If it's smearing on you, use the spray detailer, wipe, and follow with a clean rag immediately. Problem solved.
