anyone want to come out next saturday the 23rd with me and jovan. We're installing a PLIM and doing the LIM gaskets as well as VC gaskets and maybe PEm's on his SLE. anyone else want to come up and lend a hand.

I really hope you're not biting off more than you can chew. If you've (juan) never done manifolds on one of these cars it's going to take you awhile to get all the heat shields out of the way and get the rusted bolts loose. I don't think you'll have time to do a LIM and the PEM's in one day.

i was just thinking bout that at school today when putting the engine back in the cavaliar, maybe only LIM work this time

Guys, not to step on anyone's toes, but I just got back from my mechanic's place and was told that while basically the top of the engine is off to get to the LIM, will be the optimal time to do the PEMs'. I'm going to Carquest today to get some PB Blaster and will sporadically throughout the week start soaking the EM bolts so they hopefully will come out easier. The front side I can get to no problem, it's the rear where I might have to turn into Gumby to soak the other side.

I will make sure though to do this as much as possible before next Saturday.
Also will order up the EM and VG gaskets as well.

Word of advice..... An air ratchet will be your friend with that job. if u dont have one, get one.

Juan, I also have my set of rampstands that I will be bringing along. Hopefully that'll make life a little easier!

alright, went and got the PB Blaster.

was shown by Dan where the fronts bolts are for the EM, hit them no problem. Put the car up on the rampstands, after still trying to squeeze my fat self under, I could only see only one of those bolts sticking out, so I sprayed that. I also tried to follow the exhaust from the back on up, in which case I found a junction up front that was connected by two nuts/bolts (on each side, remember, I'm an idiot when it comes to this type of stuff). I assumed that was where the backpipe? and EM met, so I sprayed those two nut/bolts as well.

Did I lube the right parts? Do I get a gold star for the day?
