service engine soon ?

Post by RookieSSei »

Okay well as many of you know I'm having some issues with p0332 knock sensor code okay well this started after my trans rebuild some one here said it could be damaged from the trans being removed the shop blamed the sc saying it had a knock . But strangly the light comes on 1-2 times a week and goes off I've noticed it comes on when the car is worked up like example I was late to work 2day and yesterday so I did 100 on the highway all the way to work it came on both days also when it comes on the car drives bad feels like another car . Now could this be false kr? Or bad wiring and sensors? I need help because this driving me crazy

I think the sensor is bad. I have a feeling the shop either damaged it or the wiring, and is not fessing up. Prove to them that the S/C doesn't have a knock, and then ask them if they'll look at it. They should have a warranty on their work if they're a reputable shop. Work with them, not against them. Makes it much easier in the future.

That code is for the bank 2 (rear) knock sensor. If there is no wiring damage, and it is not picking up noise by being routed too close to spark plug wires, replacing the sensor is the next step.

It's on the back of the engine, near the freeze plugs, and should be partially covered with a heat shield.

I don't know which "it" brings up 2 knock sensors, but if it is a knock sensor with the same part numbers, I'd have to think they are one and the same. Checking that number at GM Parts Direct shows simply "knock sensor", and just one option. However, it also shows an updated part number of 12591625.
