2000 ssei key fobs
I need the serial number for the number 1 key fob for a 2000 ssei. I have a number 2 fob but i dont know if the numbers are different between the two.I need to get another fob and dont want to get it wrong.

The numbers should be the same. It's just how the fobs are programmed into the system that makes them 1 or 2. The programming has to be done with a Tech II or similar scan tool.

The only difference is whether there is a big "1" or "2" on the back of the fob. This is what gives them different GM part numbers. As Archon says, it's all in setting them up with the Tech 2. The car has no idea if there's a one or a two on the back. Each fob is basically unique in its own way, even with the same part number.
I can tell you that there is some conflicting information about part numbers. I spoke with GM personally and in one location they list two specific fobs (#1 and #2) for the 2000 model year only. In another location they list two other fobs (#1 and #2) that will supposedly work from 2000-05. I know of one person who went to the dealership and they were unable to make the 2000-05 fob work with his car. He had to purchase the fob specifically listed for 2000 only. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I have seen some information to support that there are two different Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) modules (as indicated by different part numbers). This may well have something to do with it.
I can tell you that for the 2000 model year only, the key fob with #2 on the back is P/N: 25665575. The part number with #1 on the back is P/N: 25665574.
In any event, the Bonneville can support up to four different key fobs. They only make fobs with a #1 or #2 so as Archon says, there’s really no need to worry. If you ever had all four fobs set up you’d have 2 with a #1 on the back and 2 with a #2 on the back anyway (or an alternate combination of some sort).
