Almost my exact experience. I spent 6 hours two friday's ago claying, polishing and waxing. It actually made it until Sunday, but when I washed it Tuesday it rained on it that night. I washed it again last night, and the DIY wash had no soap or wax, meaning even a 5 mile highway run at 75 mph couldn't help avoid water spots and to top it off I didn't know they had tore the road up in front of the house Saturday while I was at work (I live on a corner and 9 out of 10 times I approach from the side street as the driveway and garage are there). Traffic has never been so heavy or fast (one Blazer in particular had to have driven down our new gravel road 15 times in 30 minutes alone, and each time had to be doing 45 mph or more. Between the dry evening last night and the water spots it soaked the dust up and no one would ever guess it there's been over 6-1/2 hrs of detailing done to the exterior in the past 10 days.

It's like a clean car asks for something to make it dirty! I guess that's why we love putting in the work. It gives us a reason to get outside and do something constructive.

In Indianapolis, we don't have meteorologists because we can't predict the weather. The weather predicts us, and it rains as soon as either car repairs or car detailing is done. The very moment it's done. Not at any other time. Ever. It's not fair.
Your car looks excellent. I like the GXP look a whole lot. You seem to be taking excellent care of the car, and don't think about weather negatively. It's the effort that counts.

Yesterday, i put in 3 hours cleaning, and then after i picked my buddy up, a semi came out of the co-op, huge cloud of dust, and they were burning at our local state park, so i'm sure the smoke affected it.
Bye Bye: RIP sandrock
