slight vibration

Post by trf_ssei »

hi guys i read lots of posts on vibrations and most lead to missfires. but i just replaced all ignition components so i can rule that out. i was wondering if the timing chain could be worn causing a vibration, or a fuel delivery issue? car has 337000 km. this is definatly an engine vibration as it does it under various loads.

thanks in advance.

Have you checked the engine mounts? Have a friend rev it while you check the movement of the mounts.

100% yes. I just replaced the TAM and front trans mount on my 97. It was so bad the whole car would shake. After replacement its like a new car.

The engine always vibrates. The mounts keep it from transferring to the body.

well it does it in high rpms in first and second gear, or if it down shifts under heavy throttlefrom 3-2. it only does it under 60mph. How do i check the TAM? i checked the tans mount and it needs to be replaced or made semi solid as it has a tear in the front of the rubber, noticeable under load.
