I just bought this tire: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

and this headlight: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

and tomorrow I am going to pick up a color matched fender from a 1999, about 4 hours away (ouch!), that I found on car-part.com for $100 in Morris, MN.

Nope, at 15mpg vs 30mpg, its a no-brainer. The fender will fit in the back seat if I take out the bottom section. (I hope!)

Got the fender yesterday, it fit in the back seat of the Bonneville no problem. I averaged 30.5mpg, which is about 550 miles to a tank, not bad!

The fender is HUGE! I didn't realize it was the entire wheelwell and everything. I'm used to unibodies. Gonna have to remove quite a bit to get the old one off.

Should I get this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

Its only about an hour away from me. I have 3 options. Either get this, repaint the bed, or just leave it as is.

I'de re-paint it with Herculiner, rumor has it those plastic liners trap water and cause more rust.

Sounds good. I just get easily tempted when I see something that cheap on ebay, that close to me.

It was supposed to snow 3-7" today, but somehow it was 45°F and perfect fender changing weather. The process wasn't that hard, just time consuming. Took about 2 hours start to finish.

Fender off:

old and new:

new fender on:

Then I went and washed it:

Also cleaned out the inside:

Now I just have to wait for my new headlight and tire to arrive in the mail. I'll be on the hunt for a cheap hood/grill & bumper, but its not 100% necessary. I still plan to paint the bottom 4-5" with rubberized undercoating.

car-part.com is awesome, the fender was well worth the 8 hours of driving ;)

Eh... for it size, its kinda underpowdered, but it will spin the tires and get up and go. My dad has the same engine in his Dakota... thats a good power/weight ratio!

Kinda funny seeing your low mileage vehicle has 156K in your sig...

Looks good! Could easily flip it, but it's probably better to keep it at this time. A heavy duty truck doesn't really lose value at this point...

Wow, looks good andrew!! As said before, get a Herculiner or Duplicolor bedliner kit, the plastic ones trap water and crap and are worthless.

looks really good. im impressed. you could just knock the hood back out a little and replace the grill. just grind the rust away prime it and paint just the corner. it would last. just a cheaper suggestion. either way looks good.
If it were quick and easy everyone would be doing it!
