Need Help! stuck with header install
I am in the middle of a ZZP header install and I can not get the rear header in place. This is on a 2001 SSEi.

How have the rest of you installed the rear?
1. on th GP they can unbolt the dog bones which will allow for the engine to roll forward, but a the Bonneville our motor mounts are on the bottom front and rear, so is it possible to roll the engine forward like to GP.
2. the other option is lowering the cradle. any input would be greatly appreciated. there are two set of bolts on the rear of the cradle can I just unbolt one corner or do I need to unbolt one whole side or Back?
Thank you so much....
Mike

From the link, it looks like you got it already.
I installed my Pacesetters from the bottom.

Our Bonnevilles are different than those W-bodies. Remove the front trans mount and see if you can roll it forward some. I know I didn't have to do that on my install though.

Re: Need Help! stuck with header install
Excelent, But can I remove the front trans mount with out supporting the engine weight? or what is the best place to put a floor jack to support the engine while removing the front trans mount?

Re: Need Help! stuck with header install
Yes, you need to support the weight. Use a jack with a 2x4 to distribute the weight on the oil pan.

Re: Need Help! stuck with header install
I am getting closer going from the top with the motor mount disconnected, the engine will move about an inch or so. I may also try to disconnect the rear mount as well...
I am still working on disconnecting fuel lines and everthing by the brake booster to allow the crossover pipe to slide the rest of the way down.
The header is about 1/2 in, with the primary tube below the valve cover. I just need engough room for the crossoverpipe to slide between the brake booster and the valve cover and I think I will get there with some persistance.
I will give you an update soon.

Where are you from? I don't think you should need to do all that engine moving. I've done Pacesetters from above and SLP's from below with no problem.

Re: Need Help! stuck with header install
I in Indianapolis.
I had to not only move the engine, I also dropped to cradle in the back. However, the real challenge was the rear motor mount bracket once I remove two of the bolts and loosened the third then it only took me about 10 min to put it back in form the throttle body side. All this is a learning curve to understand how to install these headers on a Bonneville.
BTW, I am not done I just have the rear header inplace but not bolted in, I we give an update when I am done.
