Paul got some pics at dinner. I'll upload my day's pics in the morning. 11pm now, and we've been up since 6.

Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
We all seemed to sleep in a bit this morning. And it just started raining, so we'll have some prep work to do before we get going again.
Today we have a couple LIM's to port match, 2 magnetic SC plugs to install (drill/tap), Matt's 2k to continue assembling (pretty much just rear springs, 12 rockers, LIM/SC now), and the M62 back on Boss455's car.
Here's a few pics from yesterday:

Matt and Dex Friday Thursday night

Just getting started yesterday morning

John gets started on his rocker install

Paul, still missing the silverbullet, working on Grizz's seats

Various parts....I cleaned alot yesterday

John's rockers ready to go in

More parts out of the 2k

Subframe tilted for cam removal

Mike and John finishing up 'Christine'.

All the VC's getting final cleaning, John's to be installed clean, Matt's to be wrinkled like we did on his 95

New cam sprocket, 'safety glue' baking on the interrupter magnet

All wrinkly now
Ok now, anyone remember the beautiful cast impeller design for the S1 water pump? No cavitation. Just like the Meziere electric pump. Ever wanted to run one on a S2?

Run a Series 1 pulley. The only difference is the hub on the water pump. All other aspects are identical. This went on Matt's car......I just happened to have it laying around:

Matt tasting his injectors....he can determine WOT flow this way

Raining, but still getting it done. About to put the LIM back on the 2k, and put both superchargers back together. Both now have new couplers and magnetic plugs.

Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
I'll post 'em up later. I get them from Canadian Supercharger....see the Vendor's section.
I've installed an even dozen now. All 3 of my 'normal rotation' superchargers have them. It's amazing how many particles they trap in a very short period of time, both on worn out and brand new bearings.
The plugs have very strong magnets inside 1/4 NPT tapered plugs. I just drill and tap to the new thread. They also have much larger hex heads. You'll never strip one of these. Bigger hole for draining and filling.

Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
Had a couple test drives. Cam swap is phenomenal, even with stock exhaust and pulley. Ray's car (Boss455) is all back together and doing great too. All work is done other than re-doing the solid front mount on Matt's 2k.
While Matt and I were out on the first test drive, I called Wendy's phone and left her a voicemail:
"Wendy, got it running, we're out driving and matt is doing great (Matt punches the throttle and smokes the tires in a light rain from 40mph for about 100 feet)"
"Matt, you're scaring me......Stop IT! Matt, that''s a TREE!!!!! (hang up)"
She was rude to me when she called back and I answered like I was in pain from the battery hitting me in the back of the head from hitting the tree. She didn't believe we were in the ER.

LOL that's great. Any kr or anything w/ stock exhaust and cam?
-Matt
Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
Just be careful. I spun my rod bearing right after the cam install. Shouldn't see any KR with a cam and a stock pulley down to 3.4 pulley on stock exhaust on a 2K. Man I am missing this. Can't wait to get out there in July now.
Matt will probably break 13s this year. He going to get the headers before WCBF?

I'm curious about the mileage too.
also how much a cam vs rockers affect mileage

Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
Nada, if anything it improves the mileage a bit. I am getting about 30-32 now where before I was getting 27-28. But I have a lot of tuning too.swampthing wrote:any idea how the cam will affect mileage? (other then stompping the gas all the time)

Re: WCBF - Spring Break 09 Mini Meet
Everything I've done to the Zilla has increased FREEWAY mileage, but hurt city. I expect the street/strip pulley choices Matt is making to make it neglible at the worst.
The test drive I took with him averaged 3.9 mpg over 10 miles though.
Tons of pics to come....tomorrow we clean up and add a poly bushing to Matt's solid front motor mount.
