Slung grease
Slung grease
Any source of grease on the front driver's side besides the CV joint? Wife's car had grease slung under the hood on the driver's side. I jacked it up and checked the CV boot and it doesn't appear to be split. Where should I look?

If it's green slime, the CV joint boot seal may have burped some out without tearing. It's best to clean it up, inspect again, and keep an eye on it. I've seen that happen before.

I've had it burp on the passenger side with no split in the boot.
Clean it up and watch it for any future grinding noises.

Too thick to be PS fluid. I've cleaned it up and will keep an eye on it for any further accumulation. I don't guess there's any way to remove the boot and grease the CV joint is there? If it is CV grease, could you cut the band on the big end of the boot, pull it back, grease the joint then put the boot back on with a big hose clamp?00Beast wrote:Grease or oil?
