The trunk is pretty bad.

I'm thinking of welding in a steel plate there and mounting to that. Would even be sturdier than stock.

Same thing happned to mine i backed it with 3/16 flat bar and its solid now. i dont know how it ripped out tho cause there is no damage other than the latch being ripped out no rust either..
If it were quick and easy everyone would be doing it!

I have no doubt you could make it look like a babied 100k original. Question is, would it bring enough after fixup to make your labor worth it to you?

OT, you gotta share how you clean up a carpet. I tried a Bissell once on mine, didnt quite give me the results I was hoping for.

Part the pig out and get your money back. I think you could spend less effort in flipping a much better car while making more money.

the car has to many miles on it to be worth all that work. If you want to fix it & keep it I say go for it, but if you want to make a profit... I dont see it hapening. Plus make shure that the engine & tranny are good before you start throwing money in to it.

Based on your purchase price, I would make the effort to fix and sell, even if its goes for $1000 or $1200. Had you paid over $800, its a part out.

Good luck man!

I would say fix and sell it. But I'd be biased :)

If you honestly think you can make a profit by flippin it. Do it. If not, Can I have the Driver side headlight?

i lean to fixing it all the way up until i see the mileage... i'm just worried it's going to be really hard to sell with 218K or whatever.

Hooked up my scanner this morning and pulled the codes.

I was surprised to only find 2.

P0121 - Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem
P1645 - EVAP Solenoid Output Circuit

Watching the TPS % & voltage on my scanner, it was all over the place. I'm gonna try swapping TPS's again. They said they replaced it, but it doesn't look new to me.

I also found a broken "U fitting" on the EVAP line, so that explains that code.

Still not making any boost, even after swapping BCS's. Hmmmm...

Did you look at the BCA? They've failed before.

Ha! Car is running great now.

I replaced the TPS with a spare, and it instantly changed the way the car drives. It accelerates smoothly and the trans shifts perfectly, and at the right time.

I still wasn't getting any boost, so I changed the BCS from my 00 just to be sure. No change. I was sure the BCA was working correctly because it was moving the plunger at the correct time. Then I started looking at the MAP sensors. One of the vacuum lines was disconnected. I put it back together and I instantly had boost!

However, found a couple more issues. Its doing that same "grinding, moaning, growling, etc..." that my 95, nates 95, the Grizz, etc, have all experienced. Its pretty bad. I'm assuming I'm going to be changing some motor mounts. Ed, shop still available?

Also, I found a coolant puddle on the floor. Can't see where it came from. Both the radiator and overflow are full, so I'm not sure whats going on there.

Pretty big, 8" diameter. Looks like it was coming from where the radiator drain plug would be. I'm glad its not the heater core ;)

I think it is worth salvaging. We are talking about Haro here. If he does one of his magical cleanings like he does and gets a discount on the welding of the trunk and the rocker, he can easily put a few bucks in his pocket.

Even if you repaired the metal like you plan to, based on the mileage, and the body alone I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it.
