Is this really a 98?

Post by RJGill84 »

I know it's sort of hard to see, but this does not look like a 98 to me. Thoughts?

Wheels suggest 92-93.

Thats what I was thinking...along with the black stripe body molding. In fact, the car looks very similar to yours.

92-95 SSE/SSEi's share the same body kit, so in this case, the only thing we can really rely on are the wheels.

He also states "SE". Maybe he just attached the wrong pics.

It looks like it has 92-95 tail lights. IMO, the tail lights are better indicator than wheels which can be easily swapped. Not too many people take the time to swap tail lights. I'm going with a 92-95.

Email him and ask for the VIN. From that we can tell the exact year.

So, this is obviously a lie.

"this car has been dependable to my wife since it had 047,000 mi."

I wonder what else he is lying about.

It did. It seems that they are using my old car's pics to sell their 98. I know for sure that the car in the pics is my old 92. Confusing... i should email them.

Wow...thats insane. I definitely didn't think it was a 98 - I questioned not only the rims and the tails, but also the black body molding that the 96+ didn't have. Not to mention it has SSEi badges, and they claim it's an SE. I wonder if they're trying to pass the 92 off as a 98 for more money or what. Doesn't make sense really...

Very odd that its YOUR vehicle and I just happened to come across it lol. You should email them.
