Got a nice nice issue. Either the inner tie rod broke and caused a slide off and or the slide off caused the break. It happened so quick can't tell. Lucky was only traveling about 5 mph, little damage, no injuries. Well the front bumper has a nice dent. Regardless, got to get it drivable.

Re: Near misses
I don't know what it is, why it suddenly seems Fords are after Pontiac's. This might be a good thread to see if it's a passing trend, or here to stay.
I second!!
Managed to look long enough at it to find a gouge and snap two pics. Damage isn't as sever as my emotions, lol! Emotions aside, I ...

Re: Near misses
Funny thing - they were both Fords. Today, Blue Oval = evil.
Today, while approaching a stop sign on US 12, I had a 'near' miss. I say 'near' miss, but there was contact. The driver behind me, following to close for condition, per the police officer's words, was riding my tail on US 12. I was ...

Wow, thanks for the thread! After dealing with the the nuts on the road yesterday I sat down in my recliner and started wondering if Celine had a target painted on her somewhere with invisible paint that only idiot drivers could see. Or are people just upset with us cuz we be riding in style? Was ...

If you don't have air tools, don't attempt that axle nut. Gonna need a lot of heat, wire brush time, penetrant and a BIG Impact Gun.
Those axle nuts are going to be a bear that will be tackled in the spring. I have already been warned to plan on replacing. I use to work in a garage that restored ...

Re: Oil pressure switch went bad??
Thank you for the reply and link! Had searched for info but couldn't find or over looked the article in the results. Figured it was relatively ez replacement, couldn't locate it, or the switch. Also wanted to confirm my diagnoses.

Oil pressure switch went bad??
:helpsmilie:
Last week while doing the brake job, we changed the oil. 5w-30, the PSI gauge reads 40 at idle near 60 0r 80 mark while driving normally. Today I put gas in and checked oil, fluids, tires. All good. Start the car back up, the gauges run the normal cycle, from 0 to 120 back to 0 then to ...

Re: The 7 hour brake job with horror pics!!
Looks like the car is not driven to much with all the rust build up. I hate to say it, but you might be back to swap out those pads sooner than you think. I had the Duralast Gold pads on a while ago and they will start to squeal really bad after awhile for no reason. I finally got sick of it and ...

Could I get a aluminum fuel line, size ?? and replace from the filter to the rack?
Since I got do it anyway and not fond of slicing, if I have to get by for a bit, so be it, but, I could get colored line to at least give the 'want to do' list a bit of attention at the same time...??

Re: Restoring to "Like New" Condition
Hint's on caliper bolts, get all the bolts you need to replace them all the way around. Good to have on hand in case you need them or decide to replace them from the go...if you don't need or use them you can return them.
Not a bad idea to have a few extra lug bolts and twice as many lug nuts, if ...

What a warm 54 degree, sunny shinny day for break job, 1-1 1/2 hour job, 2-3 hours to complete everything scheduled for the day, then to car wash to clean and vac her out, and then a nice ride in the country side...or so that was the plan! Caline had plans and agenda of her own, so...

Going to use a friends garage this weekend to put on new brakes/rotors, remove and replace a lug stem and nut.

Finally found my T-20 Security bits, so I was able to pull the MAF and inspected it myself. This is what I found..
Odd, all the pics I have seen are lettered A B B, not A B C. Incorrect sensor, maybe from different model car?
