Re: Transmission Issues
Coils and wires are solid. No issues there. Clogged Cat is a maybe. Will say that the car in recent months has had a feel as if it were sort of dragging a bit, but if i accelerated hard it would go like no other. It might be the Cat, but it seems more like the transmission. Thoughts?

So about a month ago when I was on the high way, At around 60mph the car started to act weird. The rpm gauge was fluctuating back and forth and the car itself was shaking and kind of jumpy, when I lowered my speed, it worked fine. On monday, however, The same thing happened at around 10mph. It seems ...

Finally going around to fixing my AC system. Went to pepboys and got a can of the r134a with UV dye. Put it in the system and came into an odd problem. The clutch engaged after a a few seconds of charging. The system pressure was basically dancing between 20 and 30 psi, and I mean the needle was ...

rear right WSS harness
been having issues with Trac and ABS lights for a while now. Traced it back to the right rear wheel. Replaced the whole hub(bearing was bad) and the light still comes up and code reads the same hub. So i looked at the male connector and noticed the pins look a little rusty. Tried some conductive ...

Re: Wheel bearing or ball joint? Now with trunk leak!
I recently had some play in my front driver side wheel. Could of sworn it was a wheel bearing. Went to two mechanics, both said ball joint. Changed the control arm and it turned out they were right.

Odd Knocking sound

Weird knocking sound coming from the engine at idle, 800 rpms.
The knocking continues and gets louder up until 1400 rpms, It completely disappears afterwards.
Place the car in drive, there is no knock at idle, or at higher rpm. there is slight tremble and shake though.

One of my pucks is off center by a little bit. Been over a year and haven't had a single issue. I don't know if this mattered but i put the off center one on top.

KYB Strut Mount Problem
Not necessarily any problem that needs an answer. The answer is obvious. Just more of an FYI for those who decide to purchase KYB strut mounts. Today I had the pleasure of seeing that my passenger side mount had ripped apart and basically the strut is how loose and rubbing the hood. How old you ask ...

Re: Couple questions.
Honestly. I did my struts and control arms at the same time. Made it a little easier seeing as it was all apart. I redid all my sway bar bushings and end links with energy suspension. no complaints here.

Re: Couple questions.
When I had a bad rack, I was leaking fluid like a bastard. Causing the pump to whine. Other than that, A friend had an issue where his steering was very "stiff" and when he replaced the rack, the steering was fine.

Everyone says the monroe's do create a ride hide issue.
If you want to retain ride height. Best, easiest, and cheapest way of doing this is buying the strut separately and just assembling it using your own spring.

Mine started clicking last week. When I went for an alignment, my mechanic showed that it had been losing grease from the around the inner boot.

Okay this is an opinion question.
I hear everyone here swears by the napa axles. Arent those made by Cardone? I hear mixed reviews about them.
Any recommendations on the brands on rockauto? Are they all made in china stuff?

Re: strut replacement
In terms of the history of my car. The front struts were replaced for the first time at 132,000. The rears were replaced at about 95,000 the first time with monroes and now at 132, 000 with kybs. Gives you a rough idea of how long the factory ones can last.
