Re: Wouldn't drop out of first gear...

...update...I noticed it does it more during the very hot weather here in Fresno so that is making me lean towards the fluid. A definite service is in the plans but maybe also a trans cooler. Still looking for input from you very knowledgeable experts out there... ;) thanks!!

Wouldn't drop out of first gear...

...it has only happened once, then I parked it for a week, took it again and now it appears fine? Anybody else have this happen? What am I looking at, a shift solenoid possibly?? Need a service...well I know it needs that because it has been to long anyway. Only about 40k on the new rebuilt ...

Re: Groaning brakes

Update...it is gone! After redoing everything and going premium along with bleeding the lines it is free of noise!! Once in a great while you hear a slight moan but basically I am good to go! LadyMac believes it was the brake line bleeding that did the trick! Hey, I can't argue with her, it works!!

Ultra Gauge...which gauges are best to show

I just got the ultra gauge and was wondering if anyone could tell me which gauges are best to have on the 1st page all the time? This will be for the 2000 SSEi...I think I can put up to 8 on there but maybe only 6...what does everyone think? Thanks!

Re: Groaning brakes

Thanks dayton...I am sorry but misery does love company. I have now put new rotors, new premium Napa pads, completely cleaned all boots, calipers, mounts, bolts and lightly lubed moving parts. Have bled each side and have basically done everything except rebuild the caliper. I got excited for a ...

Re: Groaning brakes

They are NAPA mid grade and they have a beveled ends if that is what you mean. It has been suggested that I get the pads with the seperation in the middle and that will solve my problem. I am at the point where i am going to replace the calipers to see if that is the problem!!!!!!

Re: Groaning brakes

Not a bearing...it is in the rear both sides! We have narrowed it down to either bleeding the lines or of that it isn't then rebuild the calipers! Beyond frustration...gearheads can you put your heads together on this one?? Thanks!

Re: Groaning brakes

At all speeds but usually when it heats up a little bit. You can pump the brakes and it is less severe but it never goes away. If I can anticipate the stop and stop like an old lady, very lightly braking for 100 yds before the stop then I can avoid the groan, or as my Son calls it, the whale sound ...

Re: Groaning brakes

Ok, I am completely frustrated with this situation now!! I have now replaced all rotors and pads with Napa medium grade, lubed them up well and I am still geting the groan!!! It is not a squeal but a moan or a groan. Kind of like running your finger around the rim of a crystal glass but a lower ...

Re: Supercharger noise...nasty noise

Looks like it is the HB after all...had a mechanic come and look at it and he was able to turn the HB back and forth as well as there are pieces of rubber coming off the face. He said the water pump is going bad too and I am pretty ticked at that because we just got through replacing that with the ...
