Because I can't seem to make up my mind we decided to add another animal into the fleet. 166,000 miles and counting. Say hello to the $6,000 volt!

Updates on the Avalanche
Hey guys, long time no see! I figured I'd drop by and show off a few changes to the Avalanche.
I had to do a few planned repairs and one huge unplanned one, but the result is a pretty solid truck.
To start with the original LTZ air suspension was shot and the compressor burned up, I would up ...

Re: My new ride!
The 5.3 is no slouch either for power, though if I had my way a new chevy with the 6.2 would be sitting in the driveway at my house

Just got done with its first bath and got a couple quick pics. Still needs a waxing and interior detail, plus I still need to get the Kia dealer sticker off the back :???:

Re: :):):):)
Yeah I found both of those solutions for the radio but neither are budget friendly currently. I do see that the car was regularly serviced but no info on timing chains, I'll have to gamble and hope it lasts til I can afford the $2000 or so to do it. I think it needs brakes soon as well. I'm hoping ...

I plan to do a full cleanup and wax with some proper pictures this weekend. It's been so long since I had a car that I actually wanted to wax.

Re: :):):):)
Hmm I'll have to take that into consideration, I was surprised to see several aftermarket options for front and rear lights on these.

Re: :):):):)
So far we love it, so it's a 2009 v6 with most of the gt options, leather, upgraded stereo, sunroof, etc. 105,000 miles on it. It has a few scratches and the lower air dam is damaged but nothing major. This Kia dealer had it on their lot since June and I managed to talk them down to $8300 for the ...

OK, just fyi to anyone who doesn't think a v6 g8 is a viable option. This car is a good successor to the Bonneville in terms of stock power, but it drives soooooo much better with the rwd and nice suspension. It's responsive and feels good on the butt dyno as well.

Lol why don't you come down here, it's a great place to check for rain leaks!
So it is just a v6 but the price was right so we're happy, we mostly wanted the interior room for the little one.

Re: Looking for a backup camera
Yep that's the idea Ed, I actually have some grand plans to revamp my entire stereo in the truck but it is pretty low on the list compared to things like a/c, paint, and finishing the interior.

Re: Looking for a backup camera
I just went and measured the dash pocket, looks like 5.25 by 2.75 or so. Now to find a screen that will fit as snug as possible.

Re: Looking for a backup camera
Ah I see, well if you are familiar with the 88-94 Chevy interior you'll know that double din isnt really an option. What I'm thinking is to use the dash pocket above the a/c controls where the factory radio was and mount a small screen in there
