Re: Water in spark plug well P0300 code

Took it to a Chevy dealer for an evaluation. They said it passed the head gasket test but they think it is a head gasket issue.
Gave me a $4500 estimate to instal a used motor. I asked if it had the stud insert kit our just standard OEM studs and he said he had no idea but assumed the OEM.

So now ...

Re: Water in spark plug well P0300 code

Again, I ask if there were any of these rubber grommets around the coil stem, that mounts between the aluminum bracket the coils mount on and the cam cover;

Nothing abnormally as far as I could tell. I had "topped off" the coolant a few weeks before I let the car sit for a month.

Re: Water in spark plug well P0300 code

Had the battery checked and it was good, charged it overnight (they said it was needed), finished pulling the plugs, the back ones were different in that they were not white but slightly brown. 3 out of 4 plugs had slight moisture on the threads. I used a hair dryer as best I could to air out the ...

Water in spark plug well P0300 code

Having an issue with my 2005 GXP. After not driving the vehicle for about a month I jumped in one a cold day and started the car. The check engine light came on and was flashing.

I took it to O'Reilys and had it read which came back as a P0300 random misfire. I searched this forum for any ...

Re: Bonneville GXP's in 2017

I would not have bought mine if a site like this did not exist. Unbelievable how helpful when I had my 2000 SSEI (wife totaled it) and on the GXP threads. I purchased a low mileage GXP (24K in Sept 2014). It now has 99K. I have a few things I am scheduling to get repaired like the dash gauges do ...

Driver Side Top Front Pully

Silly question (actually stupid question) coming up. I have not yet had to perform any work on the GXP yet but now coming fast. The driver side top front pulley is squealing/light grinding. This is mounted above the transmission reservoir. Only have tertiary time at the moment before I get in deep ...

Re: Looking at buying a GXP

Same here, I was looking the other night at GXP's.

I ended up replacing all my Monsoon speakers with Infinity reference speakers. Night and day difference. Even though you were able to make the bal/fade adjustments to make it sound better, if you drive around with the windows down and sunroof open ...

Re: Looking at buying a GXP

Congrats. Its a beautiful car. I bought an '04 GXP with 32K a year ago to replace my 02 SSEi and do not regret it. There are some other things you should do. The first is to flush and change the coolant. It is possible it was never done, and now if it is 10 years old, it 5 years past its lifetime ...

Re: Looking at buying a GXP

Greystone Metallic and sorry, it is not for sale.
I've brought it to a few local car shows and I've had several people ask me the same question. I looked at a lot of 2 year old Impala's, Malibu's, and the Buick line up...all ok but nothing that is as much fun as the Bonneville and they were all ...

Re: Looking at buying a GXP

I had owned a 2004 GXP (bought it in March of 04) and sold it in 2008 with the mileage over 100k. Although the replacement Honda Accord (still have it) was far more reliable, I still missed the Bonneville. This May I was looking for a used car for my daughter and came across a 05 GXP with less than ...

Re: Looking at buying a GXP

So as of Saturday afternoon I officially am a very happy idiot. I bought a 05 GXP with 24K miles on the odometer from Pa. I live near Columbus, OH. It was pretty surreal trying to get this to all work out but it is done now. I was shooting for the car in memphis but it was sold before I could gather ...

Re: Engine shuts off well driving

My four car killing items

MAF - My 2000 SSEI would die with no warning at all speeds. Just cruzin then dead. I tried the MAF cleaning, changed the fuel filter drove around with a fuel pressure gauge in my cabin etc. It would start fine a long while later and run like a champ for a few days/hours ...

Am I wrong thinking that there is a lip on the block that won't allow the elbows to over penetrate?
