Northstar reseal
Just had my Northstar engine resealed. Started to get an oil leak and it got progressively worse over time. Very reputable garage here locally and they did a superb job. Every seal/gasket replaced along with hoses, oil cooler lines, oil filter, and oil pressure sensor. My GXP only has 71k miles and ...

Just turned over 70,000 miles on my 2005 GXP
My 05 GXP just turned over 70k..I replaced the plugs and 4 coil packs along with a new intake manifold gasket. It really runs super now..and everything is working fine. Next year I plan on taking it on a 2500 mile trip across country. It truly is a fantastic road car. Brakes were done alittle over a ...

I had a 2005 GXP about 7 years ago..sold it and regretted it. So, I found a one owner, 68,500 mile original 2005 in perfect running order. White gold and I don't think anyone has sat in the back seats. Best of all.. Everything works! Plus near New tires and pads. Auto Check and Carfax reports show ...

I'm glad to see that more folks are using these..I've had mine installed for a year and a half and
live in the humidity of southeast Georgia..and haven't got any codes as of yet. This setup really
does work well and believe me, I've surprised alot of boy racers out there!

Re: Your Bonneville Experience
Under the Volant part number: 15846C, it's for an '04 Cadillac Deville. You'll have to trim off the tubing that Volant
provides--takes about an hour and a half to install. Look under the post for "Cold Air".

Re: Your Bonneville Experience
Every GM FWD vehicle has that issue with the intermediate shaft. And a quick, cheap fix, is to get under there, pull the boot back, and with something like white lithium grease, spray it in there.
After owning 3 MG's, I learned that trick early on--about 4 months after I purchased the GXP, I have ...

Re: Your Bonneville Experience
I have owned my 05 GXP for approximately 18 months and the only thing I have repaired/replaced is the intermediate
steering rod. The originals were prone to wear and then a popping noise when you turned the steering wheel left or right.
Other than a transmission/radiator flush, I have done just the ...

Wow. 188,000 and 117,000 miles and they look that good?! I've had my '05 GXP for exactly 1 year and it just turned over
47,000 (a boy among men). Once a month I crawl all over it and take an afternoon to check everything I think could be
a problem (thanks to this website!) - Knock on wood; no ...

Thanks for the help; I removed the stock piping and installed the Volant tubing.
Again, this Cold Air system makes a BIG DIFFERENCE.

Just ordered a VOLANT Cold Air Intake for my '05 GXP. Under the Volant part number: 15846C,
this is for an 01-04 Cadillac Deville 4.6 Northstar. It took me about an hour and a half to remove
the old box and install the new one. I used the stock hose pumbing; the Volant comes with extra tubing

New GXP owner intro
An introduction to all. I have owned the 05 GXP for a month now, and so far I've had to replace
the intermediate shaft on the steering column due to the wicked pop noises coming from it,
plus the missing trim piece behind the drivers' side door. Otherwise, a truely fun car to drive.
This makes the ...

Re: Missing Trim on 2005 GXP
Thanks to all for your help. I went to the local Chevy/Buick dealership, and got drawings, etc.
The part number they gave me (I verified by getting printout of the part) is: 89045653, specifically
for the GXP (it comes as the whole lower rocker and both wheel well pieces). Price is $132.94 with ...

I just purchased a 2005 GXP with 37,000 miles on saturday. Absolutely
satisfied and really love driving it. My question is this: it is missing the
small "L" shaped exterior trim piece just behind the drivers' side rear door
that fits in the forward part of the rear wheel well arch. Does anyone have ...
