Does anyone know if it's necessary to pull off the alternator and power steering pump on a Series 1 L67 to remove the idler pulley bracket that has the double wheeled idler?
I'm need to pull all wiring and connectors to track down a short and some of them go through the bracket and can't be pulled ...

Re: Can't get a scanner to communicate
I checked the continuity of the data stream pin to the ground and it had about the same resistance compared to the other pin used to jump to the ground when doing the paperclip code-pulling thing.
I'm not sure how much resistance it should have to the ground though.

Re: Can't get a scanner to communicate
My issue is that scanners that once did communicate no longer will. This leads me to believe the problem is with the car, not three scanners (two of which are identical models that are older).

Can't get a scanner to communicate
So I went to Autozone a few months back and was able to successfully get a scanner talking to my car. I went back a few weeks later and the same scanner would no longer communicate with my car. It acted as if it wasn't even hooked up. Fast forward to now where I broke down and finally bought a ...

Can they be accessed without disassembling the whole unit and with the headliner still in?

Are the sunroof parts the same from 92-94?
You guys are awesome btw. That looks like it would be a fantastic deal.

Re: Broken dreams and moonroof
That's a good idea if they can be competitive price wise. Right now my main concern is securing the opening with something more permanent than cardboard and plastic. I'm not too concerned about appearance.

If that is true then it would be a huge help.
Does anyone have an idea how much I should expect to shell out for a replacement sun/moonroof?

I'm also curious if the glass part can be separated from the whole mechanism. My car is 1300 miles away and I may be able to find the glass part locally and ship the part to myself if it doesn't include the track, motor, etc.

Broken dreams and moonroof
So the recent whacky weather caused a massive ice storm to blow through and in the process dropped a tree on my dear Bonneville.
Thankfully the sunroof was the only damaged glass, but now I've got to figure out where the best place is to score a replacement. I was wondering if anyone here has much ...

There has been no shortage of colorful invective here today. I have tried about a dozen times to get my CPS adjusted and it will not cooperate. I bought a BWD from ORLY's which may have been mistake #1. Anyway, it's as if the mounting bracket and/or the sensor itself are crooked because ...

Crankshaft position sensor upgrade possibility
I've read that some of the later 3800s use a non-adjustable CPS. Do they use the same connection as the old adjustable type and do they have the same sized/gapped harmonic balancer? If so, would it be possible for the older 3800s to upgrade to the non-adjustable type?

Re: Electrical woes - possible PCM issue
So, um, it would seem the problem is actually with the CPS.
Despite the CPS being the cheaper part of the three (PCM, ICM, CPS) it's the most frustrating to replace because of the necessary adjustment.
So I want to know if it would be possible to upgrade to one of the later years non-adjustable ...

Re: Electrical woes - possible PCM issue
Took the ICM out to O'RLYs and it tested bad. Though that could be a bogus reading. Time to start shopping around.

1992 ICM & PCM compatibility question
It has probably been asked and answered already but I couldn't find the info.
What years/makes/models have compatible ICM/PCM with my 1992 SSEi??
There are precious JY around me and I'm going to need every bit of info I can get.
