My 1998 Bonneville SSEI is always been a great car. Lately it has been stalling and having a hard time starting again. It does have a code and it states that the Crankshaft position senor is bad. Does anyone know if this is a hard thing to replace?

Revisiting Stalling Issue 98 SSEI
Ok, for months now my 98 ssei stalls out usually after let my foot off the gas while cruising on the highway. Starts right up afterwards.
Happens sometimes while idle or at the stop light but rarely. Usually occurs on the highway.
I'm not pulling any codes and the check engine light is off ...

Re: Car won't start/crank.
That's a no then. The CASE Learn (Crank Angle Sensor Error) basically allows the crank sensor to determine where the crank is and set timing from there. Go to your dealer, tell them you changed the crank sensor and that you need a CASE Learn. It takes 30 seconds with a Tech II and they'll charge ...

Re: Car won't start/crank.
Thanks guys, dont know why but the car started up after 10 mins and hasnt done it all day since this morning. I will have to check my resistors this weekend.
Now I got to figure out this stalling problem. It usually happens at low rpm (around 1000) with my foot off the gas. Did it to me today on ...

Car won't start/crank.
So I needed to get my harmonic balancer replaced so I figured while I was at it I'd replace my crankshaft position sensor since the car has been stalling on me and I heard thats usually the culprit.
So after I got both installed, I left the mechanic and came home everything running smooth.

Re: Harmonic Balancer Removal
There only 3 open slots in the HB and the bolt holes are directly in the center of those but recessed.
You have to use the correct bolts. If you need something to match it to, it's the same thread as the upper intake to lower intake bolts. I just use 3 of the longer ones usually near the throttle ...

Re: Harmonic Balancer Removal
Remember that heat burns the rubber face, so if this balancer isn't bad and you're removing it for another reason, flame would be bad.
Remove the plastic cover beneath where the engine and trans bolt together. It's actually a 2-piece cover, three 10mm socket head bolts. One forward, two below IIRC ...

I have no clue how to hold the flexplate. My try the first the first idea, thanks.
Any other suggestions?

Checked the battrery. Connections are secure, however the instrument panel is blank...nothing lights up and the gauges don't budge.

Climate Control Module blank and no air blowing
Hi guys, first time poster. I just bought a 98 SSEi with a few minor problems. First of which is the climate control. The unit will not turn on when the car is started, looks like there's no power going to it. And when it did turn on the first couple of days I had the car there is no air blowing ...
