Dead 2003
Car won't start! 2003 SLE not getting power to starter solenoid and I don't hear the fuel pump coming on, everything else works. I've checked all of the fuses under the hood and under seat and swapped relays with known good ones. Security light isn't flashing or anything crazy so I don't think it's ...

Re: For those who replaced blower motor-Help with which part
Hope I'm not to late to help, but the four seasons is a direct fit for the 03. The TYC and AC Delco that Rock auto sales requires you to buy the plastic housing that the fan mounts in to make them work in an 03+.

Re: Full header vs powerlog
Thanks for the info! Would you happen to know if we have it so that the codes for the cat are removed in the tune will we still need the down stream o2 sensor?

Re: Full header vs powerlog
Thanks for the quick replies! The car already has a zzp down pipe and hi flow cat, will I be able to keep that if I go with something like the headers in haro1225's link?

Full header vs powerlog
First thing that will make this much easier: Does anyone still make or have available headers for the 00-05 Bonneville?
So if headers are available, are the gains great enough to warrant the extra cost vs just getting the front powerlog made by zzperformance? Of course I'm getting the information ...

Re: ssei to sle swaps
Not sure why on the dash swap, just seems like lots of work for very little gain. We recently did a full blown custom stereo install in the SLE seems like it hasn't been back together long enough to rip it out again - okay maybe I'm lazy.

Re: ssei to sle swaps
Ok, have more questions! How will the traction control work after the swap (or will it)? Also assuming I can talk him out of the dash swap, is there a place the factory boost gauge attaches that I could tap into for aftermarket gauge? We've decided to pull the ssei engine and at the very least ...

Re: Cabin Fan do not come on during colder weather
My guess is the brushes in the motor have simply warn out. Next time it doesn't turn on give it a little "love tap" you'll be able to see the motor under the dash in the passenger foot well.

Re: ssei to sle swaps
I'm totally with you, I wish he wouldn't do anything to the sle, it truly looks and runs like new, but I know he's going to get about 20% in to this and I'll have to finish it.
His feeling is the sle is "his" car and wants it to be as unique as he can make it.

Re: ssei to sle swaps
The ssei has minimal damage to the body of the car, but in the accident it went over the curb at a high rate of speed and somehow bent the sub frame. The right front tire has been pushed back and rubs on the back of the fender well. The previous owner was able to provide us with all of the service ...

ssei to sle swaps
My son has an 03 SLE and recently purchased a 01 low mileage ssei that was in an accident, with the hopes of swapping the motor/trans and interior pieces.
I know the leather seats and various interior bits should be fairly easy, but I was wondering if anyone has done the heads up display and what ...

Re: AC Compressor Bearing Replacement
Did mine but it's been a while ago. I was able to get to it through the passenger fender well. I had to drop the compressor down so that the clutch puller (parts store loaner) had enough clearance. Took the new bearing and pulley to the machine shop, they pressed the old bearing out and new one in ...

Re: 2001 Pontiac Bonneville A/C Clutch
When my car did this it was the clutch bearing, the noise goes away when the clutch engages because the pulley is no longer spinning on the compressor input.
Having said that I was able to pull the clutch (I had to rent a special clutch puller) and reinstall it without removing the compressor lines ...

Re: 2003 Front fender removal
Thanks for the reply, exactly what I was looking for. New (used) fender will be at local salvage yard Monday, hopefully it will match - they didn't know the paint code of the car it came off of but it is supposed to be off a 03 silver SLE.

2003 Front fender removal
I searched and may have missed it, but has anyone done a write up on removing the front fender? My son was involved in a hit and run accident that left him with a crunched driver side fender. Think I've found one the right color (I hope), just wondering what was involved in replacing it. Thanks

Re: How do I stop rust progression on seams?
I've had good look with the stuff from Eastwood. Never tried POR but I did notice it on sale on Eastwood site. I've been trying to slow a rotting Ford Expedition for awhile now, it's no fun.

Well checked wiring and plug, all seems to be good. Guess I'll just leave it unplugged. I am going to hide it though, otherwise it will bug me every time I see that dangling plug!

Re: Low Brake Fluid
Just looking at the wires and plug it appears ok, don't see any rubbing or kinks. I am planning to check them with an ohm meter but rain today and tomorrow both.

Low Brake Fluid
Picked up another Bonneville, this time a 2003 SLE, fixed a few problems and now have a great car with one minor exception. I can't get the "Low Brake Fluid" warning to go away. I unplugged the sensor and it went away so I assumed it was bad, however I swapped it with another car and it worked on ...
