Re: temperature sensor on dash
I checked the actuator under the glove box. I benched tested it and it works, but when I plugged it in before reinstalling, none of the buttons on the a/c panel moved the actuator. Now I'm thinking it's my a/c controls. I got the coldness back by resetting the flap manually and did not plug the ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
I feel so stupid, but here it goes. I don't even know if my pontiac has automatic climate control! I don't think it does based on the different a/c face and knobs. I know there are 2 small a/c vents at the end of the counsole for the back seat. There is an air filter for the A/C after removing a ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
There is not rubbish such as leaves or obstructions on my condenser and no leaks. I'm wondering if I should just vac and refill coolant and oil.

Re: temperature sensor on dash
I forgot to mention it has no automatic climate control! Sorry. My a/c was working fine then one day it just seem to be a little warmer than usual. I had a new a/c compressor in my storage so I thought I might as well use it. I changed the orfice tube, checked for leaks. Can't find the problem. Low ...

Does the sensor in the middle of my dash board have to do with the a/c temperature or lights? (2005) pontiac bonneville 3.8)

ambiant temperature sensor
The owner's manual for my 2005 pontiac bonneville states that there is also an EXT (exterior) temperature sensor located behind the front grill. This sensor reads the outside air temperature and helps to maintain the temperature inside the vehicle. Any cover on the front of the vehicle could cause a ...

Thanks for redirecting me! I looked by the latch, condenser, radiator and behind the 2 split grills, but can't find it. Thanks!

Re: Expansion valve location
My accumulator is under the hood. One line going in and the other end is where the orifice tube goes. That line goes into the firewall. Hate NAPA guy told me the short side of the tube faces towards the accumulator faxing the front of the car. I'm confused.

Re: Expansion valve location
I sure could use a diagram of the accumulator and which way the orifice tube faces. I found my orifice tube in the connecting side of the low side to accumulator.

Accumulator/ orfice tube
Can someone post a picture of a 2005 a/c accumulator and which way does the orifice tube goes in the connecting line? Or a link where I can see it? I've seen many a videos, but not about a 2005 pontiac bonneville. Thanks!

Re: Expansion valve location
Thanks for taking the time and effort in linking me up with the site. I didn't know. I thought all vehicles with a/c had an expansion valve. I thought the orifice tube was only to filter out rubbish in the system. Thanks again.

Re: Expansion valve location
Evac was for about 45 minutes and about 2# of coolant. If there is no expansion valve, what converts the liquid to a vapor?

Re: Expansion valve location
The temperature in the car with a/c on gets cold, but not as cold since I changed the compressor. It was the reason I had changed the compressor since I had a new spare. It's just a little colder, but not where I think it could be/ use to be. It's in the range of 70-60 at the most.

Re: Expansion valve location
I appreciate your quick reply. When I check the low side it's at about 40 and the high side is about 200. Then the high side starts to up, but the low side does not adjust accordingly. This lead ne to believe that there is some type of blockage/ restriction. Am I on the right track?

Expansion valve location
Aloha from Hawaii! I have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8. I can't seem to find the expansion valve for my a/c. Some call it the oriphis tube, but that's not what I'm looking for. Any photo or information of it's location would be gratefully appreciated!
