I just did mine with a bunch of other stuff a few weeks ago. A few things to note.
A good impact wrench is manditory. There is a hex in the top of the strut for getting the mount off, but the way the strut mount is, you cant get a wrench on it because the nut is recesed in the mount. I held the ...

Re: Anybody have experience with Wagner rotors?
I am sold on brakeperformance.com. I put a set of their dimpled/slotted rotors on my girlriends 05 dakota. She drives like a moron and is hard on brakes. Had the factory rotors warped at 30k. Now have 50k on the replacements and they are holding up just fine and no wobbles or vibrations. I cant ...

Re: Poor heater output
I'm not sure if monitoring the temp of the upper hose is a valid test. Wouldn't the hose temp drop when the thermostat closes? Does this car have a temp gauge in the dash?
Yea, the hose is a poor measure of system temp. If you can get a fix on the thermostat housing, that would be beter.

Re: 90 SSE w/ABS Follow-Up
The ABS computer is under the dash on the drivers side right behind the fuse pannel. 2 fasteners hold up one side, take them out and it will swing down.
Some things that might be helpful. Cant find any diagrams that specificly labels the brake lines. Someone else is going to have to be nice and ...

Re: 90 SSE w/ABS Follow-Up
Thats what i did to mine. Puled the ABS controll fuse. If you pull the fuse for the pump by mistake, you get to stop 5 or 6 times before losing power assist. Do test drive before letting your girlfriend/wife take it anywhere

Re: 90 SSE w/ABS Follow-Up
Other cars use the same system. My brothers 89 ElDorado has the same unit as my bonneville. But even when they work they are junk. If you swap for a real master cylinder and booster, post back on how it went.

They are in good shape and were tight at the battery. Its too dark to check the other end of the ground cable. In the morning.
Do these cars have a ground strap from the engine to the chasis?

Re: Weak electrical system?
Your brake power assist is vacuum, not electronic, FYI.
Nope. Its electric. Dont have a pic handy, but i am positive about it.
Edit: I got off my lazy but and took one. Its a bosch system and is a lousy excuse for an ABS. I wish i could trade it for a good old fashioned booster and master ...

Weak electrical system?
My 89 SSE may or may not have a problem. While running, the voltage runs right around 13.9/14.0, pretty normal. The lights seem to be a really big draw. When i turn on the headlights, the volt meter dips for a split second but recovers. Same when i step on the brake. Well with the lights on, and the ...

I replaced it and it worked fine for a few weeks. Then one day it just quit working. No blown fuses that i can find. When i ...
