Re: 2000+ Common Problems & Solutions (updated 5.11.11)

Just replaced the fuel tank level sensor but it didn’t fix the problem. I found that autozone has complete wiring diagrams for most cars just have to create an account and look it up. Turns out that the fuel level sensor is driven by 5volts coming from the instrument cluster. I didnt have 5 volts ...

Disconnect arm and it will pump all the way up. Pull the fuse and it should return to normal none functional.

Re: intercooler tips, advice, questions?

SSIC isn't less work but it is less money and less HP.

You have to take everything apart for full size or short stack, there is the same amount of work for both. I've owned more ssei's then most! See my install of full size core I make.

My major modifications at this time.

Re: Need Tech info on the monsoon xm,cd,tape deck in 03 SSEI

My son tapped into the XM L and R but the volume level was really low. He switched back to the Cassette Tape adapter with a Blue tooth.

Sorry, I New it was an old post but the OP was spot on! This is CD quality aux input! I’ve been using a cassette adapter for more then 8 years. This sounds good!

Re: PAC PXDX Auxiliary Input Set Up

I've had lots of Bonnevilles (I think 6) and I even went with 1factoryradio for the 2004 GXP Radio. It needled bulbs and I figured I try the Aux Input. They fixed the display lights but not the lower button lights. They added a auxiliary input but the volume was drastically lower than the radio ...

Re: PAC PXDX Auxiliary Input Set Up

For all those still using a cassette tape adapter.

Anybody use a cassette tape as an auxiliary input?

When the the weather turns cold mine would always say tight tape. Take adapter apart and remove the gears. This will cause a broken tape error.

Did you know that the radio has an adapter mode ...

This is a perfect write up if you have a 6 changer. Just did it on a 2002 SSEi.

I also purchased these to make it blue tooth

one of your lines across the rear window is scratched or damaged. I've tried repairing them but it didn't last long. I ended up getting a razor blade and making it so no power went through any part of the damaged defrost line. That was the only way I could get defrost and FM.

Re: Is supercharger operating correctly?

10psi is actually higher than stock 7.5 - 8.0 psi. You might not have a stock 3.8" diameter pulley if your actually getting 10 psi.

ON MY 2000 SSEi, 70 kpa is max which converts to approx 10 psi so I would assume that is normal.

Is that the Max you see on the Gauge? Does you needle actually ...

Blu Tooth OBD2 adapters and Android Torque App works good.

Most run the 3.4" with headers, opened up intake. I run stock mufflers, stock resonators and a high flow cat. I daily drive mine and I'm old enough that I don't ever want a car with drone again! I was thinking about Bonneville GXP Exhaust ...

Re: Smithw500 here. Hello to everyone!

Do you have a scanner? Good scanners will give you a misfire table by cylinder. Even if your getting P0300 random misfire its likely only one cylinder. The cylinder closest to the vacuum leak.

I have found that most misfires at idle are vacuum related!! (injector o-rings, vacuum fitting, boost ...

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Its a grand prix thing with the drive by wire throttle body. Its a popular swap to get away from the plastic manifold but you need a throttle body adapter to bolt on L36 TB. Same adapter as the Gen 5 supercharger to L67 TB.

Re: 2003 SSEi rough idle but fine under throttle

Vacuum leaks cause misfires at idle. You say you don't have leaks, does that mean you have replaced the rubber ends on all the vacuum hoses? If your still running the original they are all leaking a little. If you pull them off to check and put them back on they are leaking more since they are old ...

Re: Anyone installed non-OE engine parts?

The 2004 and 2005 North stars are not the worse, most problematic motors in GM history. Maybe the 1999 and older N*, but the 2004 are a different.

As far as rebuilding a north star I would swap in a used motor 2004 or 2005. We don't rebuild the great supercharged L67 either, we just get junk yard ...

Re: Code PO300

I code reader that displays a misfire table is real handy since thyou did the shotgun approach and it didn't fix it.

My experience says misfires at idle are always vacuum leaks! A vacuum fitting on the lower manifold or upper intake is likely cracked. These cars are old enough now that even if not ...
