Re: Considering a GXP purchase

Thanks guys!!!! Makes me feel better about getting one.... Very true that usually a post is about something that is wrong and how to fix it or complaining about something so that does skew the actual numbers.

Considering a GXP purchase

I'm looking at buying a new-used car and I'm a Pontiac lover at heart. I really like the looks of the 04-05 GXP and am considering seeking one out. I don't want to spend much money on repairs, I'd like to buy it and have a couple good years of no repairs.
Are there things to look for or to avoid ...

2000 running issues

I have a standard 3.8 and having issues with it stumbling and not running right.
I can get it to start if I give it gas and pump a little, I had taken it to a shop and had a scan of MAS. I replaced it with a new one but no change. I know that I should be able to unhook the MAS and it should run but ...

Rear valve cover removal

How much of a curse fest is it to remove the rear valve cover on the 3.8 so I can replace the gasket? It's leaving lots of oil on the ground, I did the front so it must be the rear now.

Tried to start her when I got home from work and she started up. Guess I'll see if she acts up again soon.

sputtering on start then no start

2000 3.8. This morning it started with sputtering and the RPMs never came up then died. Numerous tries after this resulted in no starting at all. Same thing happened about 2 weeks ago. It had a strong gas smell as if flooded but after a few minutes it fired up and had done fine since then until this ...

SECURITY LIGHT ON MY 2000

When I start my car the security light stays illuminated some times and not others. If it stays on I restart the car and it goes out. What is the issue with that and will anything happen if it is driven with the security light still on?

Common motor/trans mounts that go bad

I know that I need a new mount (I have the jumpiness going into drive or reverse) but I haven't had the time to see exactly which one or ones. What are the usual ones to go bad and how much of a PIA are they to replace. I'd like to know before I start pricing parts.
Thanks guys

Re: Spammers/Scammers Suck.

Ahhhh the good ole scammer. I have gotten the "I'm out of town and will be sending a courier to pick up" or similar stuff a lot of times..... I just play along and let them waste their time thinking they are getting somewhere for a little bit.
It is pathetic that these people even try to work a ...

Re: I have issues!!!

I went in gunshy of Chrysler - always thought of them as the cheapest and didn't expect a lot........... I have to say that after owning it for a while I'm shocked at how pleased I am. They definitely turned my opinion and thought around. I'll gladly put them right up there with the best of them now ...
