I've ordered from them once. No issues to speak of.

Re: A few opinions needed

If you have a head unit that puts out a higher voltage, you can just keep your gain at a lower setting. Lower gain, lower noise floor, better sound. You'd get less hissing and noise at higher volumes.

Re: Did I fry my amp? or is it just a fuse?

If you have your power wire for the amp fused, you can just pull that fuse when you hook the ground up. That way the amp isn't seeing any power at the time.

Re: A few opinions needed

Honestly... idk, I didn't buy them new, and the person I bought em from didn't know, anyway to tell on the subs themselves?
If you have a DMM you can hook it up to the sub's terminals to find the resistance (impedence) of the sub. Also, if you pull the sub out of the box it might have the model ...

Re: Did I fry my amp? or is it just a fuse?

I got a pretty good ground on one of the bolts for the rear shocks. Just sand/scrape off all the paint so your ring terminal can make good contact with bare metal.

Re: A few opinions needed

I've been thinking, and I'm gonna get a better single channel amp and hook it up to see if that will help, I've got Eclipse subs with an eclipse 2 channel amp, which is where my problem is, it's too weak to power the two subs, so i think it's time for an upgrade, any suggestions as to amps ...

Re: A few opinions needed

I wouldn't do that.

First off, don't mix sub brands and sizes like that. It's just wrong. You don't need tons of subs and power to get loud. What you need is a good quality sub and amp, and a properly designed and built enclosure. A well made ported enclosure will get quite loud, even with one or ...

Re: some serious window flex with 4 15'' l7's in da trunk.

Honestly, with four 15s and 5000 watts, it didn't seem that impressive. Is your box sealed? I don't see how you can fit 4 15s in a trunk ported. What is there, like 1.5 to 2 cubes per sub?

I bet 2 15s on one 2500 in a proper box would be nearly, if not just as loud. And you wouldn't be dropping to ...

What port area and tuning you have on it?

From what I've seen those HCCAs are beasts. I wonder why they're only rated for 1500w RMS. Seems pretty low for a sub with a 4" voice coil.

Re: 7000 watt rms system 90% complete. and still adding

Yeah I'd think that two of those subs in the right airspace would probably be louder than 4 in a tiny box. It's pretty well known that L5/L7 subs need big boxes to sound good.

You going to do a full wall or a partial? What do you have as far as electrical? Probably gonna have to run a couple alts ...

Good idea going with a wall in your back seat. You weren't doing yourself any favors cramming 4 15s in your trunk with a small box.

Re: Two questions one thread, Grounding issues, subbox movement.

in truth I do have a Pioneer deck hmm,not sure what model right now. how did you go about grounding the RCA's to the case? And Is this fuse just on the back of the decks or the inside? last thing hot swapping? unplugging the RCA's while the subs are going?
I'm pretty sure it's called a pico fuse ...

Re: 2002 SSEi Door speaker sizes

I would consider what you want out of your system. I demand high quality, therefore I have no rear door or deck speakers. All you need is a good pair of components in the front with the appropriate reinforsements to the door panel and a dynamat treatment to the skin.
What did you do to reinforce ...

Re: Two questions one thread, Grounding issues, subbox movement.

Another thing to think about...

What kind of HU do you have? Pioneer? I ask because many Pioneers blow a small fuse that grounds the RCAs. I had to ground the RCA barrels to the case of the radio to stop a lot of noise in my car. Not totally gone, but it helped a lot. That's what I get for hot ...

Re: thump thump...

Good pickup.

Don't use bass boost, though. Keep it all the way down and set your gain with it off. The only time you should ever use it is if you can't get the output you need without it. Beings you have an aftermarket deck, I wouldn't even bother with it.

Re: Pioneer headunit issue

Well, it depends on the headunit. Some have a max volume of, say, 30 so having it up to 20 would be 2/3 max and be pretty loud. I have a Pioneer DEH-6000UB and the max volume is 50. So, I need to turn it up to 35-40 before it's truly loud (but I have external amps and have my gains set to 40 as my ...

Re: thump thump...

Have you thought about building a test box? Around 2 cubes, and use some PVC for the ports and mount them either partially or totally external. You can trim the ports to give you a tuning of, say, 35 hz and if you don't like it, you can trim more off to raise the tuning to, like, 38 hz, then 40 and ...

Cool setup man. What are the specs on the box? Also, do you just have the components mounted to the front side of the door? Did you do anything behind them? I have my Alpine Type X components that way and I feel like the midbass is lacking up until the point that they bottom out ...
