95naSTA, VERY nice! I love those wheels on your black car! Did you re-do them?

You could put a turbo on your car with a BOV and then you'll get that sound.

Re: Who is the best source for GM Parts?

As stated, gmpartsdirect actually sells their stuff at cost...then they rape you on shipping to make their profit. When I worked for the dealer, I could get parts at 10% above cost. My cost was MORE than gmpartsdirect sold for....untill you added their rediculous shipping charges. Then they were a ...

Willren, what psi do you run that at? I've been wanting to make one myself. Do you have a post on it telling the components you used?

Thats a thrust washer and is pretty important. I think a rebuild is in your near future?

In my opinion, if it was from the factory, it's major. Just one vaccum leak (depending on where and how big it is) can affect multiple different systems.

Re: what is this disconnected vacuum line for??!

Would this happen to be a california emissions car instead of a federal emissions car? Now that I don't own a bonneville anymore, I forget what they look like under the hood. Maybe it's for an air injection reaction pump? Your underhood sticker should say if it's california emissions or federal ...

I don't think sunfires came with 3800's, but it doesn't look like a bonneville, does it? My guess is it's an EVAP line.

Re: air bag

There are a few ways to disable it, but the easiest and safest way is to just disconnect your battery and wait 10 minutes before working on it.

Edit: the 10 minute wait gives the module time to bleed it's power off. Like letting a capacitor drain.

Re: raising voltage?

This is the most rediculous sterio set up I've ever heard of.

Listen to these guys, sell all your deep cycle batteries to boat owners, because that's what their for...boats. Install one automotive battery with high cold cranking amps (1000-1200 cca). And for god sakes, get this done before someone ...

6 speed manual Bonneville?

Anyone given any thought to converting a Bonneville to a manual transmission car? The F40 6 speed from a G6 will mate to the 3800. I know someone did this swap on a grand prix already. Don't get me wrong, it's not a direct swap. Lots of custom stuff is involved.

Re: rocker install at intense!

The lift plays into it too, not just the rpm. The higher the lift, the more distance the spring needs to return the valve. This will hold true at 1 rpm or 7,000 rpm. You won't see problems until the higher rpm's are reached, but lift, spring rate and rpm all play hand in hand.

If lift gets too ...

The fireo project is still moving forward, but slowly. The replacement is a gmc sierra. But we usually drive her grand prix.
