Re: Car died, won't start

Sorry, forgot to update.

Ended up getting it running. After a new battery, plugs, wires, and 2 coils, it ended up being the ICM.

Got it fixed and then sold it within a week.

Hated to see it go, but it was time. It was going to need more money than I had for the PA annual inspection. The ...

Re: Car died, won't start

I was hoping to replace it with a truck at tax time. Was hoping for a Silverado and budgeting about $5K, so you're spot on LOL

I don't want to give up, but budget is tight now and I can't keep throwing $30-$50 parts at it hoping to fix it.

Re: Car died, won't start

Came out this mornign and it woudln't start.

I will try the fuel filter becuase it's only about $10. Of ocurse, i'll check to see if it is gettign fuel at teh rail.

If it's not the filter, I don't know. I might be done.

Re: Car died, won't start

Car is running much better. Still not perfect, but much better. Still wants to die when you REALLY get on it. Like 4500 RPMS. But up til then it is perfect. It started rough at lower RPMS but just seems like it blew some junk out. I id end up running it out of gas so I am sure that probably didn't ...

Re: Car died, won't start

I think the fuel filter was done when I put the new pump in about a year ago.

Replaced another coil. Definitely getting good spark now. Idles pretty good, but will eventually drop and die.

BUT I think it may be out of gas now LOL

I was low when all these problems started. I added about a gallon ...

Re: Car died, won't start

Ok, checked the new coil. It sparked BUT the car also started. Honestly, I was just interested in looking for the spark I didn't even realized it started so I told my wife to shut it off. I was going to check the other sot on that coil. It started right back up, but it's still running REAL rough. It ...

Re: new need help

Funny, I have a Bonneville and hoping to replace it with a Silverado. Looking at an 03 to be exact.

You'll definitely see a huge improvement in gas mileage. Don't forget though, the supercharged Bonnie's need the 93 octane gas. Where I live, that runs about 30 cents more per gallon then the regular ...

Re: Hesitation and rough idling

Not sure on the fuel filter. I think it was changed when the pump was changed, but can't remember. I'll ask my mechanic (he goes to my church).

I need to check the air filter to be sure. I showed my buddy a pic of the plugs, he said it looks like it is running lean. Not sure what would cause that ...

Hesitation and rough idling

Ok, so my 98 SE has seen better day.

It's had a hesitation for a while now. It doesn't want to go at first from a dead stop. If you floor it or let off and get back on it, it's fine. It only does this from a stop, it's fine once you're going. It runs and shifts fine. At first I though it was fuel ...

Time for an L67 swap???

Ok, not now. Tax time.

Those of you that know me well know I have been wanting a supercharged Bonnie for years now.

My 95 was a NA 3.8 as is my 98.

Many of you know the story of my 98, the Golden Wok.

Well, overall it's holding up well, but it's losing it's power...idling rough, and hesitates ...

Re: Recommend water pump replacemant? 165K

Not sure on that body styel as I have a 98. I don't know what all you have to remove to do the work you're planning.

but on mine, I had to remove the alternator and a fw other things just to do the water pump. If you have to do that, you might as well do the water pump while you're at it.

If not ...

Nice. My first vehicle was a 94 S-10. First year of that new body style. It was just a 4 cylinder (2.2 maybe) with speed.

Still miss that thing.

:sucks: Leslie...talk to Marcia on Facebook. She's the car seat queen.

You may have to buy new front facing seats to fit the infant carreir, pretty much no matter what you buy. Unless you go 3rd row. I could see you in a caravan

Some car seats are narrower so that will help.
