Re: 2004 bonne Starts and runs for a couple seconds then die
First thing to do is scan for any hidden codes. If there are no stored codes I would hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see if you are losing fuel pressure when it dies. If it is holding pressure as it dies you can eliminate fuel related issues, as well as security system issues.

Re: grand prix problem SORRY
Thought I would check back. Problem solved. I finally got it hauled to the shop and put the crank sensor in tonight. Well that didnt solve the problem either. Well now I have it in a heated shop with access to WIFI for my scanner so I hook it up and download the cars specs and start checking crap ...

Re: grand prix problem SORRY
I have all the tools and a hoist so it should only take a few minutes. We are going to go get it tomorrow night and take it to the shop since it is getting to be a guessing game. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and get my duelly out of storage and unload the car trailer and haul it.

Re: grand prix problem SORRY
Well I stopped on my way home tonight and unplugged the MAF sensor. It started right up and would idle, but as soon as I touched the gas pedal it died no matter how I tried. I hate problems like this. They get expensive fast

Re: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI - C1295 Questions
I'm just gonna toss out this really stupid response and hope that you never gave it a thought. You did check the TCS off button to make sure the traction control isnt just turned off with the switch right? If you push this button the trac off light will illuminate

Re: Tuner for a 2001 SSEi ?? thoughts?
My observation on this is as follows.
1 The transmissions can barely handle the power that the engine puts out as it is. I have one sitting in my yard as proof.
2. if you turn off the traction control all the car does is sit and spin the tires from too much power and no good way to get it to the ...

GM instrument clusters are junk. Most likely a bad guage if it isnt sweeping when you start the car.
For the fog light just drop that panel and the fogs are right there. I actually burn out so many fog light bulbs that I left that panel off the car now and can change them in less than a minute

Re: service engine soon light
I would get a set of plugs and wires. Toss them NGK tuner fan boy plugs right in the trash and get yourself some AC Delco iridiums and a set of Napa premium lifetime warranty wires. Best wires I have ever found with good value.
Definately get it hooked up to a better scanner as well

Re: 2000 Bonneville AC Problem question.
It may be better to scan live data. The lack of condenser fan leads me to believe that the computer is not even commanding the compressor on for some reason.
I may be wrong and it wouldnt be the first time, but i think the fan is triggered by the compressor engaging and I think both are ...

Re: service engine soon light
hook up a gauge. Start by disconnecting the vac line on the fuel pressure regulator. If there is gas in it that will be your problem. A new fuel filter isnt a bad idea either. When they get dirty they will clog up after running for a bit. Shut it off and all the crap falls to the bottom. Start it up ...

Re: 2000 Bonneville AC Problem question.
You said you could force the compressor to run with direct voltage, so just do that to get the prropper charge and then replace the pressure switch cause that is most likely your problem. If not it is the cheapest place to start tossing parts

Re: service engine soon light
scan tool is your freind. I'm guessing that all of these newer parts are also a result of your guessing game. There is a reason that little plug is under the dash. If you dont have a cheap scanner take it to the local parts store. Most of them will scan it for free

little update... I had a spare control module in a parts car out back of my shop so I swaped it out since it takes like 10 minutes, and I have the same results. Looks like I get to do some serious digging in the dash

Re: Spark Plug Wire Metal Protectors - Necessary?
I doubt anyone will have any evidence saying wire will last X miles with the shields and X miles without them. I'm just going to venture to guess GM bean counters would have left them off if the engineers didn't feel they were at least somewhat important. Do they make the wires slightly more of a ...

Re: no air flow to vents
finally got a chance to mess with this thing a little at lunch time today. If I stick my head up under the drivers side dash I can see both motors rotating when I change thins. I think one moved when i changed the temp and the other moved when I pushed the mode button. Now something new that I did ...
