Re: Trac Light/E-Brake/Anti-Lock all on After Battery Replac
sorry, no. But it happened to me on my 2000, but went away.
since it started after a new battery, that would be a good starting point.
I never use the acc. pos. terminal under hood - I go directly to the battery
So how long if you had to say, did it go away after you did that, by disconnecting ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
It's not the sole component used to regulate cabin temperature but works in conjunction with thermistors (temp sensors) in several of the ducts. Cadmium sulfide photo cells under the dome determine the level of light shining onto the vehicle. Ultimately, it controls whether the daytime running ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
So after 7+ months, I still cannot drive the vehicle in daylight (sunny days) without the headlights coming on completley with parking lights/tail lights on as well and staying on. The auto temp sensor works perfectly fine with whatever temp I set it to. I have even shined a bright light onto the ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
There have been the occasional reports of these sensors failing, but few and far between. As for the wipers, GM believes that if they are on for more that six seconds, a poor visibility condition may exist and the vehicle automatically turns on your park and headlights. This operation is by design ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
Make sure your wiper lever is in the off position. If it is inadvertently on, all the exterior lights will come on after six seconds.
Wipers are off and not moving at all. It's odd, I will do some more investigating today seeing if something is actually obstructed the sensor as well. Are these ...

Re: temperature sensor on dash
Yes sir, if you have automatic climate control in your SE, the sensor controls the air temp depending on the angle of the sun. It also tells the car when to turn the lights on.
For the 2000 SSEI I just picked up, it seems the sensor is either unplugged or faulty as the lights are on even on a ...

Re: Advice on a 00' SSEI
Thank you guys for your input. I’m not too concerned of the bubbling or other cosmetic blemishes as I am to the SC, and other more costly repairs as mentioned above. I will be hoping to meet the seller this week to test drive and make a decision. Do you guys believe the price is a fair price that is ...

Advice on a 00' SSEI
Hello Everyone-
I'm looking for advice on possibly purchasing a 00' SSEI that has 122k on it. It's a two owner car with the current owner having owned it since 11k on it. The car does have it's bumps and bruises that would come with it, but some of the recent maintenance done on the vehicle in the ...

Hello -
I too have a similar problem as 2000_SSEi has mentioned with my 2003 SLE with 140k miles, however my situation is after the car has been driven for awhile with a warm motor, it will either start and then stall or it will not start at all until after 5+ seconds and I would need to give it ...

Hello All.
I have 2003 SLE and recently have received the above message (check gas cap) in my D.I.C. Which I have and ensured that it was tight and past the normal three "clicks" it needs. Is there a reason for this message To reappear after a cold start? I live in the Windy City so I don't know if ...

97' Bonneville Steering Wheel Control
I have a 97' Bonneville with Cd/Equalizer Radio with steering wheel controls. A few questions I had regarding this is

The trouble with doing this job is that you have to disable the airbag, so you don't hurt yourself and/or make the task much more expensive.
You should find this writeup very helpful to gauge whether or not you have the tools and skills for the task BUT some of the steps are wrong, as it was a non ...

I've already pulled the fuse for the time being. I was just hoping for another type of temp. fix. I am going to see if a friend and I can replace the part ourselves, before going to my mechanic who does side jobs.haro1225 wrote:You could pull the fuse.
