Anyone want one to rebuild? Known problems, collapsed lifter, 1 bad rod bearing and whoever owned it before must not have ever changed the oil. Located in Longview Wa. Mike @ 360-430-5457
If someone can use it it's better than hauling to scrap yard.

Thanks for the help. With the motor swap those connections are redone. I'll check the others.

Re: grounding bus bars
Gauges, heater, and radio quit and the car died and didn't restart. Had it towed home and it started and everything worked. this is on top off a ticking noise that went to a major clatter, 1 collapsed lifter and a bad rod bearing. the oil must never have been changed until I got it at 60000 miles ...

Got the motor out. 1 collapsed lifter and 1really bad rod bearing.
I'm looking for a junk yard motor Portland to Olympia.
I'll get it running and get rid of it, and good riddance.

Re: 2001 Bonnieville
I spent an hour with my daughter guiding me and couldn't get close. Going to modify a box wrench and remove the egr valve and plumbing and go that way.
I can't see putting an engine back in this POS . So I will probably have a nice 2001 Bonniville bodyfor sale or make it look look Bonnie and Clydes ...

Re: 2001 Bonnieville
I see why they call it that. I'm going to have to pull the steering pump all the way out to be able to feed the extensions through.

Pulling the engine from my 2001 Bonnieville. It feels like there is a bolt, transaxle to motor under the rear exhaust manifold. I cant see one let alone reach to feel one. Yes I've even used a lighted mirror.
I'm about ready to grab my 45 and a few mags and start shooting. Any help would be ...

2001 Bonnie goes through ignition control modules
I just put in the third one in about 2 years. I replaced coils wires and plugs the last time. Of course I couldn't find a receipt for the first 2. This one is taped into the owners manual.

Re: heater stays on hot
I pulled the controller out and opened it up. Nothing looked burnt or had gotten hot. Put it back in and now it works, maybe a bad connection. I'll leave the trim and glove box off for now and see if it keeps working.

I guess you'ld call it auto. The temp control knob feels like a rheostat.

heater stays on hot
With the controller on cold it still blows hot. With the AC on it does blow cold. My wife doesn't like AC but can't stand it blowing HOT air. Is this more likely a controller or whatever drives the hot water valve?
Oh yeah, it's a 2001 Bonneville. Thanks, Mike
