Re: Looking at a GXP, codes...

Honestly, I came to that conclusion after a quick test drive and inspect. It's leaking both oil and coolant, coolant level was low, and it ran pretty horribly obviously. The general condition of the car led me to believe that it has been neglected for a while. It needs tires, brakes, alignment ...

Looking at a GXP, codes...

Been hunting around for a GXP, this one is pretty cheap, but I'm sure it has a head gasket issue. I am attaching the code list I pulled, let me know what you think.

Re: master cylinder harness

If that light goes on with the sensor connected, there is usually a problem. If there is no other issue with the brakes, there could be an problem with the sensor itself. How does the vehicle brake? Does it stop normally?

Re: Misfire issues

Performed a leak test and with both rockers loose air was gushing out the intake, inflating the glove I stuck over the throttle body. So I am looking at an R&R of the heads, should be fun. Any input for some performance upgrades while it is torn down? Or should I just pick up that nice 04 GXP with ...

Re: Misfire issues

I don't think I set up the tester quite right, causing the disparity between the readings, and then made sure I had the same amount of cranks each time after. But I'm more than certain it's a valve issue, going to tear into it this weekend, will post results of whatever carnage I find.

Misfire issues

Hey guys,
Have been chasing a misfire for a while now on cyl #3. At first it was rare, once in a while, now it's a constant issue at idle. It runs great cruising, but hates to sit at a light. Initially I changed out plugs and wires, swapped coils around, but still on #3. I even checked out the ...

I hate to butt in, I'm sure others can voice better informed solutions, but if you disconnected the MAF and it finally runs, I think you found your problem...

Re: OBD SCAN READING

O2 readings are supposed to fluctuate between rich and lean, that is part of how the computer caluclates proper fuel/air ratio. It is working properly. Your intake temp will only get to the temperature of the air it is taking in, but is also affected by the heating of the intake, it really doesn't ...

Parts breaking...

Just thought I would let those who are interested know, on my way to work the other day I had an issue. I heard some odd thumping noises, it wasn't until I noticed the boost gauge wouldn't go above 0 that I knew there was an issue. Pulled off the freeway and found my supercharger idler failed and ...

Re: Updated trans mount design - The Boat Roller Mount

I used the same setup, though I think I grabbed a 3.5" roller, seemed to fit perfect, with bushings on the both outer points to provide more cushion. I am happy with the results and glad I don't have to invest in any more mounts.

Just a quickie...

Hey-
Been lurking for a few months, and finally detailed my car to make her a little more presentable, she spent most of her time in the rustbelt, now residing in the sunbelt. I restored the headllamps, clay bar'd the body and gave it a quick polish. I think it came out well and snapped a few pics ...
