it was an exhaust leak all the way back at the muffler. Check engine light went out on its own. Been off for 3 days.

I received my new muffler, and it is much smaller than the original, but all the pipes appear to be the correct size/location. Overall, the outside of the stubs on my new one are about the same as the casing width of the old one, so it looks like I can patch it in if I cut right against the old ...

I'm just glad I got a mig welder, I will never need to settle for clamps again!

UPDATE: I have been looking into the rust in my wheelwells and whether it will pass inspection if repaired. I am having it looked at very soon. I have pretty much decided that I love the bonnie enough to save her, and that I can probably handle the repairs myself... being that I just bought a brand ...

Yes, but he took the whole ignition system it looks like there was a computer underneath the dash that's missing right by where the ignition was. large connector, several pins, white backing...

A year? I'm surprised. I thought about welding it, I bet that would last longer. I have to get it inspected in September though, so I probably won't push it past then be I doubt it would pass. As soon as I get my new engine in I'll be on the search for a new one anyway

only the engine, tranny, fuel pump, and computers are from the grand prix. the rest of the parts were just included in the price.

I have already purchased the whole front end of the grand prix from behind the dash, the fuel pump/sender, a rear bumper rebar, and a power antenna for my 99 SLE for $900+ tax.
