It appears that the guy before me put shocks on it and must have changed the fittings. The are now a screw type.

I heard Monroe max air was the way to go. I bought a set of them only to find the air fittings are not the same as the stock ones. I got it... It turns out the had them labeled correctly. I put back together the wire that I had cut fot 02-05. Then cut the wire for 00-01 and it's working. The only thing I don't like is you have to turn the radio almost all the way up to get decent volume. Why is this and can I change it?

Well I hooked it all up and I'm still having the same problem. No sound at all! Everything works fine when the factory radio is in.

very helpful, thank you im going to buy the Metra GMOS-09 adaptor unit, However i just went to crutchfield for it and it says it doesnt fit... should i disregard this?

Where did you buy it from. Crutchfield will send you everything you need and sometimes they even give detailed instructions
