I came across a designation for a part for a 96SE it was H(AU0) does anyone know what this means as far as Bonneville models go?
Thanks in Advance

Re: keyless entry instalation
What would the answer to the above question tell you about keyless entry possibilities. And how do you determine the answer for that question?

Re: 1996 SE AC question
Well so much for the Pontiac Bonneville Club, there used to be a club where folks either answered with a tutorial or at least pointed you in the right direction. Or at the very least left a snide remark!!

1996 SE AC question
I have a 96 SE, I have had it for three years, it sat for a year before I got it. The AC has never worked, it has never even turned on that I could tell. The compressor sometimes makes rude noises that sound like bearings being eaten up.

Strange burning smell and P0108 code
I changed a low beam light on the drivers side yesterday morning, the bulb receptacle looked a little melted/burnt on one side. I plugged in the new bulb and it lit right up. So I figured I would change our the bulb receptacle later. Then I drove it about 13 miles yesterday evening to go to dinner ...

Re: Towing with my 1996 Bonneville SE
Changing the oil pan and gasket is next, but the funny thing is I asked a shop how much they would charge for the labor and they looked it up in the "BooK" and said it took 2.8 hours. at their rates it was over 300 for the job with my parts.

Thanks for the tip on the trans cooler, I was wondering about that. Good to hear the airlift springs are easy.

Towing with my 1996 Bonneville SE
I am about to start quite a bit of work on my 96SE to be able to tow a small uhaul trailer back to the west coast. I came out to Boston this feb for a job that just last tuesday went away. So I need to do this the most inexpensive way and safe for my family.

Re: 96SE Fuel Pipe leaking and confusion at the dealers
I had a leak in the similar area just before the fuel filter on the tank end. I ending up having to replace the sending unit and did the fuel pump at the same time since mine had never been replaced. Just be careful that the fuel pump is the same model as the one that is in it now. I had to get the ...

Re: AARRGGHH!!! Engine Light Flashing??
Well, I went to Baxters Auto parts and borrowed their code reader. The code reader said 3 was misfiring. I took off and inspected both ends of the sparkplug wires, they looked fine. I replaced them and twisted them slightly to make sure I had a contact.

Re: AARRGGHH!!! Engine Light Flashing??
There are about 137,000 miles on the car.
The puzzle is the strong sulphur or matchhead smell like the Cat was full of fuel of something.
I am looking for a store with a scanner.

Re: AARRGGHH!!! Engine Light Flashing??
Possibly a catalytic convertor issue. I'd check there first. Bang on it, if it sounds like loose particles are moving around in there, that's a good place to start.

AARRGGHH!!! Engine Light Flashing??
I was driving along and I noticed a smell, like a sulphur match igniting. Then the engine light started flashing and the car seems to idle roughly. I went straight home (2 miles) and turned the car off. When I started it after a few minutes the engine light started flashing again and it souonded ...

Re: Strange problem
Moshi, Thanks for the info, the difference is my car was full of gas, I drove it this morning the same route and it worked fine.
Weird, no codes, I took it to Autozone to read them but none triggered.

James

Re: 94 sse stalls while driving
It could always be the grounds under the carpet by your left foot. My 1994 SSEi did the same thing until I cut all those wires and soldered them together. Doesn't do it anymore. One key way to tell is if when it dies and the key is still on, you can roll the windows up or down. If you can't, it ...

So did you figure this out?
I just had the same experience, it starts right back up. Cruising along fine, the engine quits, I pull over and it starts right back up, about 1/4 mile down the road it does the same thing. I pull over, it starts back up. I sit there with the engine running about 2 ...
