Re: Please help!? Died, now won't start.
Thanks for the info. I can check. But I thought there'd be a warning too, but nothing. Last code reading was low oil pressure, but there was never a light and the gauge hand stayed between 30-60 psi.

Re: Please help!? Died, now won't start.
Well, got the price today. For a new motor, labor, and a 1 year nationwide warranty is going to be $2,300 bucks.
I'm clueless, but that sounds like a good deal.
Any thoughts?

Re: Please help!? Died, now won't start.
BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I found my problem, and sad to say, none of the things mentioned above was it. The motor locked up. What luck! UGH! I haven't had the *dang* thing but a little over a month. Mechanic took the starter off and the serpentine belt, and said he couldn't turn the motor over at all. He's ...

Re: Please help!? Died, now won't start.
I was thinking maybe a locked up ac compressor, but it was working fine before it shut off. Then maybe a locked up alternator? But again, it was working fine. I just can't think of anything. I was hoping someone with a similar experience could lead me verses going into this blind. I've never had to ...

Re: Please help!? Died, now won't start.
Nope, It won't spin the engine. You can hear everything engaging as if to start, but nothing. Like trying to start an old riding lawnmower. Just click on it until it turns over, but unfortunately, it won't turn over. Its sitting right where I left it until I find a towing company and mechanic. I was ...

Please help!? Died, now won't start.
Ok, my car has 40,500 miles. Its a 2004 Northstar. I got the code for the catalytic converter, so rather than replacing that, I replaced the rear O2 sensor. Went to the parts store and they reset it. No problems.
So the car has been running like a dream. I've put over 6,000 miles on it in a month ...

Re: New guy, couple questions...
Thanks! I'm not sure it's fixed quite yet. The light is still on. One more trip into town tomorrow will tell. Then, I'll buy some cleaner and do it again if it doesn't go out.
Thanks for the air filter info. That application looks way better than a filter just laying in a hole. Lol.
Thanks again ...

Re: New guy, couple questions...
Well, unscrewed the o2 sensor. Piece of cake and found 2 of the wires naked from rubbing each other. I'm guessing that's a problem. Taped them back up and now gonna see it it resets itself.

Re: Your Bonneville Experience
I wish you did too! I'd drive it right to your door. I bought this car to save money. One of those cars where you read all the great reviews when buying it, then after you've bought it, you google the same stuff and see nothing but negatives. Is 1 week too soon for buyers remorse?

Re: New guy, couple questions...
Thanks! And thanks for staying in touch with this forum. I've learned a lot from your previous posts. Since I got the car so cheap, I can afford to invest in things like the HID fog lights and the separate transmission cooler, and cold air intake. Now, just keep in mind I'm an old shade tree ...

Re: New guy, couple questions...
Thanks for all the replies. That's great info. I called the GM dealer, no recalls on the VIN of my car. So no go there.
I did price the rear O2 sensor, about 50 bucks, so I'll replace that Friday. I'd rather start there. The car runs like a sewing machine. Just odd things on this car that would be ...

I'm definitely gonna take it in. Thanks for that info! Do you think they'll replace it since its 9 years old?
And I don't even know why that bracket would go missing. That's crazy.

New guy, couple questions...
Hello all. I just found my first Bonneville. It's a nice car, but I've got a few questions. Alright, so it's a 2004 GXP, 34,500 miles. First little trip was about 100 miles. Well, of course I had to see if it was gonna meet my expectations with the V8. I was a little rough, passing everything in ...

New from Mississippi!
I just purchased my first Bonneville. What a beautiful beast! I'm already in love with it.
Was out looking for a truck when I came across this car. Its a 2004 Bonneville GXP with 34,000 miles. I paid $8,500 for it. I've taken one trip to Virginia Beach in it and I'm in love. The MPG is outstanding ...
