Re: A/C Clutch keeps going in/out. in/out

You have a leak. Take it in for a vacuum and recharge with dye. I just did a vacuum and recharge a LeSaber and a Park Ave and charged $!115 after tax. The H bodies take 2lbs of R134. If it is just a service valve, add another $15 per valve. Lines can run a couple of hundred dollars, but once lines ...

You said your Saber has a bench. So you will have to find bucket seats for a console to work.

Re: Long weekend gas rip-off (again)

$3.49 for 87 in my part of Texas. I run Quick Trip (or another Top Tier station if need be) 87 gas, pour a bottle of Amsoil Fuel PI every oil change, Amsoil OE 1030, and do a Terra Clean fuel system service 2 times a year. I am getting between 30 and 35 mpg.

Re: Good Morning?

We had ice in Dallas in December, and I had no problems with ABS in my 98. The ABS has since gone out and with the snow yesterday, I kept locking up, once while turning. I had to lock up the back wheels just to regain control and complete the turn. I went through FWD EVOC training back in the mid 90 ...

I was put in my place a few weeks ago. Driving my daughter and father in law to dinner in my 98 Bonnie, I was explaining to FIL that the city we were in is very rich, and we were in possible the oldest vehicle car we will see in the city, when I pulled up to the restaurant and parked next to another ...

Re: New harmonic balancer installed-now low rpm vibration!

I have a brand new GM HB that I bought from a Chevy dealer last May. I though my HB was bad on my 98 I had just bought, but it was the piston bearings. So I replaced the engine. It's yours if you want it $100 plus shipping.

Re: Which fuel pump

I recently replaced the fuel pump in my 1998 SE. I used the Delphi. Yes, its more money, but for the work involved, I'm inclined to put in better quality parts. The Delphi fuel pumps are as close to OE as you can get.

Re: Aftermarket Additives

I run Amsoil 10w30 OE every 5000 miles in my 98SE. I only use top tier 87 octane fuel ( http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html), and put in Amsoil PI in the gas tank every 10,000 miles. I have come to believe the 10% ethonal in most gasoline does not agree with most 2009 and older vehicles. I get ...

Does it sound like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnanIbaPzKI
I had that noise,300 miles after I bought my 98SE, changed the HB, but no luck.
I dropped the oil pan and found 1 shattered piston bearing, and 1 was cracked.

Anthracite Grey Metallic finish, I tapped around the edge of the wheel because I wanted a hint of bright. I've now done the lower chrome strips all around. Next is the chrome along the roof line.

Re: 97 flt codes P0171 & P0140 w/ 30 psi fuel pressure

You need a fuel pump. And get the Delphi.

Three weeks ago, my 98 SE started lagging at start, throwing the same codes, and refusing to start for 15+ min after running. We spent a week changing the intake, FPR, spark plugs and wires, coil swap, PCV valve and sensor, and even the battery, and finally ...

Re: New problem 2: Headlights went out momentarily

Before the days of vast information on the interwebs, 1997 to be exact, I wanted to disable the DRL's on my old 96 SE. I found a LCM under the dash close to center that would click when I turned the lights on. I took this box out and probed the lines, until I found the line that powered up with the ...

1998 SE HVAC Knob replacement

After going through the local salvage yards for the past 4 months, the HVAC knobs have remained elusive. My car was missing 2 out of 3, and switching the 1 was getting old. Today I got smart and pulled a controller out of a wrecked Bonnie and started pulling knobs off other GM's until I got a ...

I was at a savage yard the other day for some stuff on my 98 SE, and found 3 Ram Air Grand Am's. Ram Air related stuff was all gone. Except the hoods.

The talent you have, take a Ram Air Grand Am hood, cut out the vents, and weld them into your hood. Keeps things in the Pontiac family.

W-Body to Bonneville engine swap

My 1998 Bonnie SE needs a new engine. I found a 58K mile 3.8 from a 2003 Regal. What do I need to know about dropping the new engine into my Bonnie? Will it be a straight drop in, or do I have some serious mods to do?

Hello.

I'm on my second Bonneville, and 3rd H body. I bought this one because I loved my last one so much!

1st-1996 SE White/Dark gray cloth with split bench. 220,000 problem free miles as a Taxi Cab.
2nd-1995 Buick Park Avenue-Marble mist metallic/dark gray leather.
3rd-1998 SE (96 Impala SS ...
