ok maybe a little bit over the top on the title i admit it. anyways my car has a metallic sounding rattle coing from behind the back seat i haven't been able to locate it yet, also i don't know if it is related but when i close my trunk lid my back dash pops up from the air pressure any thoughts????

There's a happy little rattle from my SLE's muffler heat shield. I only hear it when other people drive it, and since rarely do others drive this car, I don't mind. Maybe your issue is more pronounced? I don't know if that trunk thing is related. In a way, it's good since with your nice seal, you may be better equipped to haul stuff that smells.

is it a sound constant or just while driving??

i only happens over certain kinds of bumps. i makes the sound of a bouncy piece of metal (I.E like a long thin piece) clanging after a bump. kinda like if you took a thin piece of metal and pulled it back and then released it into another piece of metal

I'd check the torsion bars in the trunk they probably smack together when you hit a bump.

i'm not sure what u mean is that the two little cross members under the rear deck in the trunk? i looked at them but i will again

old post being dug up, but for a good reason! i found my rattle!!! it was behind the passenger c-pillar it was a small strip of metal that runs the length of the back glass i didn't have any double stick tape so i put a pad on it and it quietened down
