Here is the new car that my mom picked up yesterday. it's a 2008 Saturn Aura XE. It has the 3.5 V6 rated at 225 horsepower. The car is VERY nice for the price. She paid only $13,999 for it with 37,000 miles, and a 5 year,100,000 mile GMPP extended warranty. It is basically loaded with all options available for the Aura.

Power adjustable pedals.
Stabilitrak
Traction Control
Six-Disk in-dash cd player
Mp3 capabilities
Factory Remote Start.
Premium Sound. (blows the BOSE away in the SSEi surprisingly.)

The car is very solid feeling when you drive it. I am very impressed. It's sad when a Saturn is nicer inside than my Cadillac! I'm hoping it's going to be a great car for her for many years to come.

I think my favorite things about this car is how classy and elegant the interior is. The woodgrain really sets it apart from a lot of other vehicles. I also love the LED tail lights which are the parking lights, and the orange ambient lighting at night. If you're familiar with BMW's, it's similar to what they have. From the ceiling are tiny LED's that shine dim lighting on the center console and door handles. It looks REALLY nice. The gauges are also really cool looking. When you start the car the gauges sweep like how pontiac's do, and the backlighting slowly brightens. The lighting is really crisp and clean as well. I believe the gauges are all LED's.

Is that more of the new GM "plastic door cards that have fake stitching in them" setup? That stuff is wayyy to harsh... Is it a 4 or 6 speed?

I like the steering wheel and radio, same thing my parents have in their Solstice, both work well.

The insurance company towed it away from the wrecker on Friday. I presume that they will take it from auction and sell it there. Either way, the Bonneville is gone never to be seen again by us.

Once the outside temp gets below a set temp, I believe 40* F, it says ICE, or on the newer cars with DIC, it says ice possible. Our truck and suburban with the temp and compass in the mirror say ICE, and alternate it with the temp.

I really like the exterior styling of those cars, and never realized the interior looked so upscale. How do the seats feel, and what material is the door panel?

The seats are a softer leather, like what my CTS has. The door panels look nice, but are still a harder plastic. The black parts are all rubberized to feel softer. (reminds me of the material german car manufacturers use.)

That looks really interesting. Is that like an upscale Malibu, or can you get the Malibu to have those/similar features? How does an Aura rank among the Pontiacs and Chevys?

The Aura is the most expensive and luxurious, followed by the Malibu, then the G6. They're all basically the same car though. The G6 is definitely a lot sportier driving, but the interior is horribly cheap in comparison to the Malibu and Aura.

Those are pretty nice cars. My dad has a G6 that's either an 07 or an 08 (I forget and mix it up) that has the same platform and motor. The steering and ride quality is VERY solid and smooth but overall the car doesn't feel much quicker than my Bonne if at all, it doesn't even get better MPG. I expected a bit more from 20 more horseys. And the throttle delay is just atrocious. Don't even get me started on the gargantuan headrest which makes over the shoulder looks impossible. I love how the cars ride but the visibility and throttle delay really piss me off personally.
