Which is better liquid clay bar or the solid brick? Also what's the best products to buy? I think I might have to try it out since the weather is so beautiful finally :)

I have only used the brick, but I have heard that it works better then the liquid. I can't confirm that though.

Mothers, Meguiar's etc are pretty good brands.

the bar is more... abrasive?... not sure for the right word there. so if your car has never been clayed before go with the bar. if it has, the liquid ice works great and takes less work

I always use the bar so I don't know about the liquid. The liquid is still a fairly new product on the market and is not a replacement for a clay bar IMO.

The clay bar because you can actually feel it working as it glides across the paint.

I bought the liquid ICE because I want to be gentle. The last wax job left the rags looking a little too gray and my 14 year old paint job might not be able to handle it. I plan on doing it twice bvecause it has never been done and the finish has the rough sappy feeling.

Then I am going to follow it with a coat of ICE polish.

I will post a before and after pic!

DaBlackPearl, your detailing towels should not be showing any pigment. That would be a sign of clearcoat failure which would mean you are left with a very dull basecoat. Is this the case?

The liquid ice claybar is a fairly untested new product, but the liquid ice paste wax is AWESOME. same sort of thing as liquid glass (not as easy of application, and Im pretty sure they are completely different, but The ICE works well)

I used the bar on my 93 about a year ago and it didn't hurt the paint. It came out looking better than I'd ever seen it, and a lot better than any 93 I've seen around here before.

as 95SLE said, the actual bar.

the liquid clay bar is nothing but a marketing ploy and a big joke.

No pain, no gain (to the "it's easier/less work")

It makes the little bit of sweat expelled worth it by far when you're finished and you take a look as that paint pops out at you in the sun.

Yep, not the best clear coat finish after 14 years of no real waxing by the original owner. he kept it clean and washed but not waxed.

That looks really good. What polish/sealer do you use?
