no i said i got it for a deal it was extra money that i had so i bought it. So now money for the amp has to come out of my savings so i want to use as little as i can until i get a better job. So i should be looking for a mono amp?

unless you want to amplify other speakers, yes. That's all you need, and they are generally cheapest.

I'm sorry but you're not going to find an amp to power that sub with a budget of $150. You're looking at a minimum of $250 even if you buy used. Don't go cheap on the amp.

With a quick search on ebay, i found you can get a new HiFonics amp for around $200 that will push it ok. If you get a used one it would be cheaper. Check out your local pawn shops too. You need something that pushes 1500 RMS. do not look at max power ratings.
