Post by bruggerauto1 »

The HUD unit has full time power from the IP fuse #30 in the under-seat fuse box and ignition power from the IGN 3 RR fuse #34 in the under-seat fuse box. Those are the first things you should check.

It gets its ground from G201 (passenger side door sill area).

As long as you have the switch connected (I'm assuming you do since you've replaced it 3 times), it should at least power up with those 3 wires. If those appear to be good, the next step would be removing the upper dash pad and checking for power and ground at the HUD connector. If you have power and ground, replace the HUD assembly. It will be easy since you're already in there.

If the switch is disconnected or faulty the HUD will not display. Try replacing the switch

bruggerauto1 via PM wrote:hey so im still trying to get this working how do i check the voltage and if there could possibly be a short in this circuit and what voltage and resistance should i be looking for in the switch and unit connector i have no power what so ever no mirror movement or light so i dont think im getting power
Please keep all questions in the forum instead of PM. The forum is for the benefit of all.

Did you try replacing the switch like I already mentioned?

I've already provided the HUD schematic. If you can't follow a schematic then you won't be able to diagnose this yourself. The HUD is provided full time battery power via the "IP fuse" and switched power via the "IGN 3 RR". If those fuses are good, and you've already tried a different switch than I think you'll need additional help.

Yes the motor should move with the switch.

Did you check both fuses?
