I pulled my Bonneville out of storage.

On July 26th of this year, I pulled my GXP out of storage for the first time in 3 years. Getting behind the wheel again reminded me of why I love this car! Each one of my vehicles provides me a different experience. However, my Bonneville has always been something pretty special to me. It was great to hit the road again. The engine ran like a top! Absolutely nothing to complain about. The idle is smooth as glass, with that well known exhaust sound these produce.
I sure have missed it.
There are still a few projects I need to complete. Hopefully I'll have enough time to work on them before I tuck it away again in the fall. If not, I'll enjoy it just the way it is for the rest of the season.

Good to hear from you Darcy. Your GXP was pickled for 3 years? Yikes! I park my G8 GXP in the winter, but I have to get it out in the summer. Drove it to work today, as a matter of fact.

My STS has been parked about the same amount of time, only it won't make it out of storage this year. COVID hit which caused a whole lot of chaos. Life managed to throw a few other problems my way, and I'm just rebounding from those. Things are on the upswing for now so I'm taking some time to enjoy the Bonneville again.
I'd love to have a G8 GXP. Unfortunately I just don't see it in my future. I look around the ads once in a while though.

Glad you got it going with no issues! Life is short and the car works. Keep her driving if you can!

I'll admit that I've had thoughts on occasion about selling two of my cars. I'm paying the better part of $4K/year in storage for both of them. I just keep coming to the same conclusion and can't let them go. Now that things are getting a little better here, and I'm actually enthusiastic about getting back at them, thoughts of selling become even more diminished. It's funny the things we tend to value and hold onto.

Glad to hear you're out of the woods, so to speak.

As someone who's owed a 95 Bonneville for 21 out if the past 22 years, I wholeheartedly agree. I also still have the BMX frame, a Standard 'STA', that the other part of my 95 n/a STA screen name came from.

Wondering about that has kept me up nights.

Haha. Stronger Than All. That frame truly was/is.
