Bypass the AC Compressor (solved)

Talk about the other 3800 powered GM cars, particularly for items not covered in other sections that may be unique to your year/model, and differ from a Bonneville.

Bypass the AC Compressor (solved)

Post by derkroenung »

Moin, Moin,
On my 1993 3.8 Pontiac Trans Sport the compressor clutch is gone.

It really does not sound very well. So for security reasons, I do not want to drive it, but it is my only car with a towhook.
Spares take to long from States to Germany.

Is there a chance to bypass the belt? (There is a sticker under the hood)
And how can I figure out wich belt I need to bypass?

Thanks in advance!

I put a shorter belt on my wife's 93 Bonneville to bypass the compressor a long time ago. Let me see if I can find the length. Should just be one one belt, no?

Moin, Moin,

Thats it.
The link helped with the part no of the belt.
Converted to the system outside of america:
it is a 6PK1845 that works. 1845mm is 72.63 inch
But a 73.25 schould be ok, too. The extesioner has a huge range

Thanks a lot
