Hi

The passenger side window on my 98 SSE only moves in small increments, up & down. I have to release some minutes de button in order to move another increment.

Could it be the window motor ?

If it moves at all, the motor is probably fine, but the glass itself (or its regulator mechanism) is binding up, so the motor cannot move it very far before it overloads and its thermal protector (like a circuit breaker that resets itself) cuts the power for a couple of minutes to allow the motor to cool.

I think you are going to have to open up the door and clean the window tracks and linkage, wherever it is binding up.

Does it help if you pull the window up by hand and press the up button?

Pulling or pushing the window let me move it.

With no help, the window moves aprox 3 inches in the begining, after that waiting about 1 minute let ne move less distance. If i dont wait i cant move it at all.
