Repainting the hood badge.

Discuss washing, waxing and detailing information as well as interior/exterior cosmetic modifications. This includes neons, body, cosmetic wheels, etc. Even under the hood detailing.

Repainting the hood badge.

Post by rustyroger »

I'm in the process of having my Park Avenue resprayed. There was some rust at the bottom of the doors and trunk lid to deal with, and the front and rear glass is coming out to deal with a couple of blisters too.
The work is above my pay grade, I'm paying someone do do this, I just help where I can, mostly sweep up, make coffee and sandwiches. :)
However the badge on the hood has lost all its paint, just shiny metal now. The guy painting the car suggested I could use nail varnish to color in the shields, he reckons it's just acrylic paint.
What do you guys think?. Would I need to use some light grade paper to make a key?. And do you think it would work?.
I think it should work, anyone else think differently?.

Roger.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. You can even get the glitter kind that changes color with temperature!

And if it doesn't work, what have you lost? Go for it.
