Bonneville Radio Installation

I have attempted to install a 7012b stereo into my 2001 Bonneville SLE along with the METRA GMAC09 wiring harness and have followed the wiring diagram and soldered the right wires together yet the radio seems to always be drawing power. I have a brand new battery yet when I leave the radio plugged in the car overnight the battery is dead the next morning but when the radio is unplugged I have no problems. Just seeing if anybody had any ideas on how to help.

My only thought is you have a constant power connected to what should be a switched power wire.

I would think that too but I have double and triple checked and the wires that the wiring diagram for the radio and harness says is 12v switched is connected to each other and the 12v constant is connected to each other

Is the radio on when the vehicle is shut off? Try pressing the buttons and seeing if you can get it to turn on, when theres no keys.
Another thing you can do, is wire a small switch in between the head unit and the 12V switched power.
Other than that, your 7012b could have issues.
