I'm trying to read the codes on a 1995 Bonneville that's running rough. I read that you can do this by jumping the 4 and 6 pins on the OBD connector on 1995 GM cars with OBD 1.5 but there isn't a 6 pin on the connector, what pins do I jump to have it flash the codes? Here is a picture of the OBD connector.

Codes cannot be flashed out of any 3800s past 1993. They must be scanned.

With a compatible OBD 1 scanner.

Question along this same subject. Are the plug ins for OBD 1 and 2 very similar? I also need to scan codes on a 95 but the Chiltons book says that 1995 has an OBD 2. Every parts shop I have taken it to for testing have not been able to get a reading and I am 'wasting' money taking shots in the dark.

Never mind. I found an older thread about this and 95's are just weird, they have OBD 1.5 The parts shops kept telling me I have loose wires under there, I almost decided to tear apart the compartment and look. Glad I checked here first! :)
