2005 SLE 3800 series 2, non SC. going to change out the wires and plugs, any votes on the good plugs to use? I know Bosch are scrap, go for acdelco? was looking at 41-101 iridium plugs. think those are best for the buck? also looking at acdelco 9746dd wires set. or ya think maybe get aftermarket wires and cut them to length? 7mm or 8mm? thoughts? if it matters, the car has 157k on the engine. I know its a lot of high miles but it was well maintained , regular 3k oil changes from the beginning. no oil leaks, or bad seals, oil psi is running 45-50 at full operating temp. oddly I hear people saying they get up towards 29 mpg on highway. this seems to get a consistant 21mpg in city or the highway. checking that with the actual miles/gallons per fillup. trans has under 50k on it and is a 3.05 ratio.. any thoughts on it?

yes, start with plugs, wires - make sure you gap them....- .o60 inch. change fuel and air filter if they are old and you should see at least 25 - 32mpg highway - 19 is good for city.

Th ACDelco OE parts are always good.
Rockauto offers a discount. Look in Pontiac Bonneville Club Vendor's forum post for code.
Amazon is another good source.
PCV valve and fuel filter will also be good to replace.
ACDelco for sure on the PCV valve. Other brands have been known to not work as well.

Here's a maintenance list, found under the Techinfo tab

NGK makes the plugs for ACDelco--but are typically more expensive under that label for the same plugs.
