Possible fuel issue?

After I purchased the car on Saturday, I drove it 200 miles home. I stopped before I got home at a store (the beer type), when I went to leave, the car cranked and cranked and cranked. Would not start unless I pressed on the throttle, say 20-30% open. It caught, I revved the engine a few times, all is good. It only did it when it was warm over the weekend. However, yesterday leaving work, and this morning leaving home, cold engine, it just cranks and cranks, this AM I had to hit the throttle to get it to go, then hold the RPM above 1000 to keep it running, did that for 10-15 seconds, and it went to idle fine.
#1. I changed the FPR on Sunday with one I had in another fuel rail. Not sure how good that one is, perhaps I replaced a bad part with a bad part. Note: I checked for fuel in the VAC line at the FPR, didn't smell anything.
#2. I tested my fuel pressure last night. Key on it went to 45 or so PSI, engine running, it held 40-42. I need to change the fuel level sending unit, its all over the place, as these commonly do with age. Fuel pump too? Delphi or ACDelco of coruse.
Now I've also read it could be a bad IAC, I am pretty sure I have one off my 97 in my tool box, I can check and see.
Any one else have any similar issues? Ideas?
